Curated Collection
Mike’s Favorite Stories on ILLUMINATION Publications — #26
Featuring some engaging stories that you may enjoy as well

Lately, I’ve shifted gears from writing and delved into fascinating stories that I thought you might find engaging, too. Alongside these, I’ve included some pieces nominated by editors and some readers on Slack. These diverse stories span across various topics. While I’ve kept my writing brief to maintain momentum, these reads have been quite the adventure. I titled my recent post Wisdom in Bite Size from a Tweet. I plan to write something next weekend if I feel like but…
Dr. Chief’s recent piece struck a chord with me because it echoed the reasons I, too, decided to pause my writing and shift focus towards more reading and curating. His candid assessment of the platform mirrors my own experiences up to August 2023.
Yesterday, 100+ new writers joined. Thanks, Aiden, who helped the team in these busy times and onboarded them successfully. I also introduced them in my previous collection so you may check it if you want to explore their profiles and stories.
Aiden (Illumination Gaming) spiced up his collections with a catchy name: “Look What Aiden Found Today.” I find it pretty amusing! I wish I had Aiden’s creative spark and work ethic; he’s quite the dynamo. Here is his new one, posted earlier. I pinched a few stories from his cool collection.
Dr Mehmet Yildiz wrote an essential article for writers showing the strategy for 2024. It was the most articulated piece so far for me. I believe writers and readers also will find it inspiring.
Dr Yildiz used his top-performing (5%) stories as an example of what Medium wants. Like many writers, 95% of his stories hardly received any views from his vast following in 2023. But he is cool with it and keeps continuing to support other writers and his readers. I will study his guide, and who knows, one day I can get boosted, but I don’t care about it much, so I won’t stress myself for the sake of it. There are better things to do in life.
He also added many new writers and personally onboarded them with great advice for their growth. He cares a lot about our writers.
Dr Mehmet Yildiz interviewed our popular writer Tim Denning. You may enjoy what Tim said in this interesting interview. He is a source of inspiration for fellow writers and thousands of readers.
Last year, Aiden (Illumination Gaming) wrote a story about Tim as part of an AI project. I believe you will love what AI thinks about Tim.
As boosting is now so crucial for the success of writers, ILLUMINATION-Curators shared our boosted stories in a new collection.
Given that none of my stories have received a boost, I’ve decided to dive into these narratives to glean some insights. My primary focus remains on the 99% of non-boosted stories that, unfortunately, fly under the radar. Someone needs to champion them, and I’ve taken up this noble yet challenging task, much like Aiden.
Enjoy My favorite stories and Some Nominated Ones from ILLUMINATION publications today.
I believe you will find relevant and enjoyable pieces from this collection covering many interesting topics.

Please watch out for deceiving and growing scammers on this platform as they act very tricky. Some readers believed them as they sound very confident using writers photos and profile names. Urgent Notice: Beware of Fake Accounts Impersonating Influential Writers
What can we do about scams and spam accounts?
Scam and Spam Accounts on Medium Are As Bad As Hate Speech and Defamation for Writers
These fraudulent accounts lack followers and haven’t authored any stories themselves. They are non-members with no star or heart icons in their profile names.
Aiden crafted two fantastic story teaching our writers how to create a highly boosted story — I tip my hat to him for that! Today, he began spotlighting yet another highly boosted author. I believe it’s set for publication tomorrow, so stay tuned! Aiden’s research and insights are top-notch.
The story of Dr Yildiz felt tailor-made for me, arriving just as I’d been contemplating penning my life’s memoirs and seeking inspiration from the ones I’d devoured. His concise yet impactful narrative has inspired me and provided practical insights to dive into this venture. Interestingly, my first story on Medium followed the thematic memoir style he has detailed, and it’s garnered the highest views to date — a testament to the power of your guidance. Writers and readers cannot miss out on this one.
