Meet Ani Vals on Medium
Teacher by profession, writer, and poet at heart

Ani Vals was born in Silistra, Bulgaria — a beautiful town on the Danube River. Even as a child, she loved reading novels, which greatly influenced her imagination and ability to take on the role of the main characters.
She wrote her first poem at age ten and has been actively involved in poetry ever since. This continued through puberty when she found solace in creativity and a way to express her worldview.
In high school, Ani became involved with the school newspaper and radio and won several first places in literary contests. Bulgarian language and literature and foreign language classes were her favorites.
Logically, in continuation of these interests, she began to study pedagogy in literature and English, where she graduated as valedictorian.
During her student years, she also began to actively write short stories, which helped to bring to light her now deeper thoughts about life.
For her, the teaching profession and working with children and young people is responsible and energizing. Ani enjoys talking to the children during her classes and not just teaching them the required material.
These conversations sharpen her sensitivity and ability to understand each person, no matter how quirky they are.
In her stories, she often draws attention precisely to the different, difficult people who attract her with the originality of their thinking. Throughout her work, she enjoys stepping into different roles, improvising, and sharing with children why it’s essential to listen, forgive, and be kind to one another.
Her profession is her calling, but her love of books and writing, especially creative writing, remains central in her heart. Ani has experience teaching children, youth, and students and working with special needs children who were up for adoption.

Ani currently lives with her family in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. She has two sons and a husband — an avid traveler and football lover. Together, they make a lot of journeys, now including their children, because traveling teaches many positive qualities like curiosity, responsibility, and creativity. It is also an excellent way for them to meet new people and cultures, try different foods, and build meaningful memories for a lifetime.
She continues working in the education field as a teacher in an online educational platform where she creates online video lessons for English learners.
About Ani’s Writing
In terms of her writing, Ani is preparing and translating her short stories and poems into English, which she wants to publish in English.
She enjoys writing on Medium, where she can showcase her work and meet other writers with whom she can share successful practices.
Ani strongly desires to share her writing experiences with other writers and writes on this topic on Medium. She also shares personal stories and articles on psychological topics such as parenting, self-improvement, and relationships.
Her goals for the future are to publish her work and help other writers with appropriate resources and online courses.
