Dear Writers and Readers,
In this post, we introduce Brooklyn Muse (editor), an accomplished writer and senior editor of Illumination Integrated Publications.
Brooklyn has pursued many positions and certifications within the New Jersey school system in the United States for over twenty years — including teacher, social worker, crisis counselor, and administrator.
On the personal side, she is a single mother of two incredible young adults- based in NYC. They are her inspiration for writing and living her best life. Writing is an expression she uses to sculpt her personal photographs to life. All images are always her own. Words give life to these images.
According to Brooklyn, “the definition of a bio provides a summary of an individual’s accomplishments, an overview of their career history”
She perceives things differently so, she chose not to do that. Having a slew of fancy papers that read that she accomplished performance expectations are not of importance to her.
Thus, her focus is based on intrigue and inquiry. She asks profound questions. “We all are evolving, not following definitions in this 21st Century, right?” Therefore, why conform? Be authentic. Be kind. “Do fancy degrees mean much if we are not in tune with those around us?
She finds the most pleasure in living a life of service. With this philosophy, she finds peace in reaching and growing daily.
Brooklyn is an educator, writer, poet, editor, photographer, dreamer, and treasure hunter.
She is in a state of perpetual growth both intellectually and spiritually. She chose to share her writings for catharsis and self-knowledge.
Generally, any judgment of her writing is not her purpose or for monetary gain. It is self-expression that assists her in documenting her personal growth and directs her to overcome obstacles. It assisted her in becoming a better version of her innate “self”.
Writing helps Brooklyn process and learn. That is what life is all about. She often states that writing for her is a selfish act, more of a poetic expression of the soul. Reading from others enhances her knowledge library and helps her understand our collective humanity. It serves as a springboard to connect with others. With those connections, we move forward to our life’s purpose.
Brooklyn thrives best with intellectual stimulation. She has curiosity and humor on her side. The spiritual side is in perpetual development as well.
