Meet Jussi Luukkonen, MBA on Medium
Senior editor of Illumination Integrated Publications

In this post, we introduce Jussi Luukkonen, MBA, a top writer and new editor of Illumination Integration Publications on Medium. He reviews many stories daily, provides feedback to writers, and publishes them timely.
Jussi was trained as a theatre director in the Finnish Broadcasting Company’s Radio Theatre in the early 80s.
After exciting years in performing arts, Jussi became obsessed with digital media in the late 80s, and in 1991 he co-founded To The Point Ltd, the first digital design agency in Finland that grew like a mushroom.
At the same time, Jussi started to practice Nichiren-SGI Buddhist life philosophy, which has helped him keep his cool no matter what. Jussi is passionate about studying Buddhist philosophy and applying it to leadership and life.
For Jussi, the years leading the fastest-growing digital agency in the country were rewarding, challenging, and exhausting. The company won more design awards than its competitors combined.
Jussi’s team became a benchmark of the highest quality in the marketplace, and the company had some of the biggest global names in business as their customers. The most significant change in Jussi’s life was when his son was born in 2002. Jussi quit his corporate job and focused on being a father. Instead of chasing money, he built a strong relationship with his son, Marius Ariel, his evening star. — ‘Marius is the best thing that ever has happened to me, and I owe him my whole life,’ says Jussi.
For the last twenty years, Jussi has worked in leadership roles from education to corporates and the public sector. He moved to New Zealand in 2006; a new beginning and an eccentric chapter in his colorful book of life. Now he is focusing on writing, coaching, and helping aspiring leaders to become better presenters, thinkers, and leaders.
Jussi is also a published author of six books, of which five are in Finnish and the last one, Digital Campfires, is in English. He has also written dozens of content scripts for interactive digital content, from Marine Cartography to Corporate presentations and training content.
Jussi’s passion as a writer is to weave his stories from the yarns of leadership, practical Buddhist philosophy, and creative life for a better future and happiness of people.
He told us, “I am a curiosity expert, I am like a magpie; I fly to find always the latest and shiniest new thing. I love to see business in art and art in business.”
He added, “Most of the time, I observe people and their behavior trying to understand what drives them — and why they sometimes drive me crazy. But more importantly, I want to contribute towards peace, culture, and education in my small way — and help people become happy one small sentence at a time.”
