Welcome! Thank you for joining our friendly writing and reading community on Medium. Now, we support 23,000+ writers. We are thrilled to have you here and eagerly anticipate reviewing, publishing, reading, and promoting your stories.
We are an open, diverse, and inclusive community, giving voice to every ethical writer. We have a few rules to keep the platform safe and healthy.
Starting in 2021, we established an onboarding process to greet and inform writers who join our publications. After adding them to the publications, we would tag their accounts, ensuring they had access to essential information.
Unfortunately, in recent days, we have learned that writers are no longer receiving notifications, and they are missing out on our onboarding pack, which contains vital information.
Rest assured, we are actively working with the helpdesk to address this issue. In the meantime, we have created this brief post today to ensure you have access to important details that will help you succeed in our publications.
The most crucial resource you should review is our onboarding pack, which contains all the necessary information. Please take a moment to go through it before submitting your stories. Here is the link.
Furthermore, please be aware that as of August 1st, Medium has implemented significant changes that impact the Partner Program, writers, and publications. The key point is moving from quantity to quality.
Consequently, we have updated our submission guidelines to align with these changes. We kindly request that you review these guidelines thoroughly before submitting your stories to the relevant publications.

Publishing and Conduct Guidelines for the Lampshade of ILLUMINATION
New writers' most frequently asked question is how to submit a story to Illumination. The answer is:
When you draft your story, please click on the … (3 dots) on the top right side of your screen. Click on the add to publication and then choose Illumination and submit. Then, editors will review and publish if your story qualifies.
The second most crucial issue is adding captions to photos and refraining from using copyrighted images. Violating copyright rules can lead to substantial penalties imposed by legal institutions.
Consequently, our editors are diligently working to safeguard our writers. We kindly ask that you honor their requests, as they have your best interests at heart.
Every new writer must read Photo Handling Policy before starting as it is the most time consuming issue for our editors.
Writers failing to meet our photo handling policy will be removed from publications. This is our biggest problem wasting the precious time of our volunteer editors and causing publishing delays.
Our publications do not accept content written by artificial intelligence tools, but we have a viable solution to make writers and readers happy. Those writers who use generative AI tools can send their stories to our new publication, the Lampshade of ILLUMINATION. Details are attached.
