This post introduces Dr Mehmet Yildiz, owner and chief editor of Illumination Integrated Publications on Medium. Dr. Yildiz sets the strategy and runs eight prominent publications with the support of 128 volunteer editors on Medium.

He orchestrates the workload of ten publications, namely ILLUMINATION, ILLUMINATION-Curated, ILLUMINATION’ S MIRROR, ILLUMINATION Book Chapters, Technology Hits, SYNERGY, Readers Hope, Illumination on YouTube, Illumination Gaming, ILLUMINATION’s Blog. He recently created a new publication called The Lampshade of Illumination to host articles by writers using artificial intelligence tools.

We introduced many editors and left his introduction towards the end as he is extremely busy with a full-time job and orchestrating the excessive workload of his seven publications. We are grateful for his vision to start this initiative by introducing our editors to writers and readers.

Dr. Yildiz is a technologist who worked for over 40 years for large organizations like IBM, Siemens, Microsoft, NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), and several financial institutes and banks globally.

He started working as a systems engineer and information officer responsible for administering supercomputers in the early 1980s when he obtained his first degree in Informatics with a scholarship.

He has a well-established academic background with a professional doctorate degree with dissertations in cross disciplines, including cognitive science, information technology, education, business, and leadership, from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia.

He completed his master’s degree at Monash University and a postgraduate diploma at The University of Melbourne in Australia.

As an academic investigator and adjunct professor, he continues his research in cognitive science and technology fields as a postdoctoral researcher supervising theses of Ph.D. students in several universities and serving in ethics communities for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, and biotechnology.

In addition, he is currently working as a technology consultant, business architect, and enterprise architect for large corporate organizations advising his clients on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, the Internet of Things, Cloud and Edge Computing, Big Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation, and Quantum Computing.

Dr. Yildiz is also an inventor with multiple patents filed in the United States Patent Office. His inventions are owned by IBM Corporation, where he worked for 22 years until December 2020.

Supporting many clients in IBM and participating in many large international conferences and symposiums, he developed a large network and client mailing list.

He is semi-retired from the corporate world, continuing his industry service as an executive technology consultant for private clients. Dr. Yildiz recently shared his perspective on his 40 years of employment in corporate organizations.

As an inventor, his most outstanding patent is Method and System for Providing Immunity to Computers, a new paradigm in the industry.

In addition to his academic and technical papers published in peer-reviewed journals, he is also a blogger for over two decades, posting more than 5,000 blog posts.

He walks his talk as a writer and editor, inspiring contributors to his publications and his valued readers. His professional background can be found on his website.

Dr. Yildiz has been active in social media since the inception of the Internet, collaborating on multiple platforms. His media posts receive over four million views monthly.
