My Belated Writer Bio for ILLUMINATION

I encouraged hundreds of writers to submit a bio story but neglected it myself. This is the hardest story for me to write.

Introduction

Many writers asked where my writer bio was. They couldn’t find it.

I felt ashamed for the delay.

They couldn’t find it because there was none.

Some said, “No more excuses,” in a friendly yet firm tone. They were right. A kind of excuse caused this delay. It was something hidden and created in my subconscious. The inner critic was too loud but was told to shut up today.

Writing about myself is a daunting task.

Writing about others can be easy, joyful, and rewarding.

I encouraged hundreds of writers to submit stories introducing themselves. Now was the time for me to move out of my comfort zone and take on the challenge. But I don’t know where to begin or how to frame it.

Perhaps I should start highlighting the importance of writer bios.

Yes, every writer needs a bio for many compelling reasons.

Whilst critics see writer bios as self-promotion, biographies are connection tools between writers and their readers. Reading the background of the writers from their pens adds exceptional value to readers.

This story highlights why writers need bios.

About my writing

As an eclectic writer, I see myself as a beyond the box thinker. I only write what is important to me and my audience. Writing for the sake of writing is not appealing to me. There must be a purpose. My purpose aligns with my core values and principles. Values and principles make us who we are.

The primary principle is putting myself in my readers’ shoes. I always ask myself: Is this type of content what I want to read? My writing values and principles are reflected in this checklist used as a reference for our writers.

The easiest way of writing about myself could be perhaps asking some questions. It is like a self-interview format. I interviewed many writers. Maybe I should ask similar questions to myself as prompts.

Once, an interviewer asked how I would define myself. It was a tough question because defining myself is not easy. Like many writers and leaders in their fields, I keep growing, radically changing, and transforming to find the best version of myself. It can be hard to define a multidimensional biological and spiritual object.

When they ask me what makes a real difference for writers, my answer would be to focus on progress pragmatically. I refrain from perfection and always put my attention and energy on progressive growth. Creating the first version of something is more important than refining the next version as far as priority is concerned.

The next most frequently asked question is about writing on Medium. This question is relatively easier to answer. Medium is a unique platform. Despite all its recent issues, it still gives us the freedom to write. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others gratefully. The abundance mentality with a growth mindset motivates me to produce more and better without expecting returns.

Apart from reading as one of my primary hobbies, I enjoy meeting new readers and writers. Each encounter tickles my inner child nicely.

Writing leads to collaboration and synergistic outcomes. Even though it may sound kind of new-age thinking to some people, I strongly believe in serendipitous encounters. Medium is an ideal environment for creating serendipitous encounters. It has been one of my favorite platforms for the last 12 months, as these serendipitous encounters keep energizing me.

One of the best ways of creating serendipity is to amplify the great messages of writers on this platform and keep the dialogue going with readers. These creative writers deserve to reach out to a broader audience using social media. A little act of kindness each day can ignite serendipity towards reaching our goals. Giving without expecting anything in return is something I value dearly.

One more critical benefit of writing on Medium is the freedom to experiment with various writing styles. New styles may appeal to different kinds of readers, hence helping us grow our audience sustainably.

People also ask me about my writing interests. I desire to be able to write about as many topics as possible. From a professional point of view, I cover a broad range of technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, Data Platforms and Practices, Cognitive Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Ethical Hacking, Blockchain, Business Insights, Mobility, Digital Intelligence, Enterprise and Business Architecture, and Emerging technologies.

From a leadership point of view, some primary topics in my stories relate to technical leadership, leadership excellence, innovation, inventive and design thinking, accelerated learning, motivation, and inspiration for entrepreneurs.

Another great interest in a writing topic for me is related to biohacking. Experimenting with powerful ideas using sensible biohacking tools and processes motivates me and helps me transform myself into a better version.

These experiments are not only physical but also mental, emotional, and spiritual. Transhumanism is of particular interest to me. One of my goals is to enhance our capabilities using biological processes integrated with digital technologies. Some ideas on transhumanism bug me for further research, but they are placed as a second priority on my list. There is a time and place for everything.

An interesting question posed to me was what I expected to accomplish by writing. Like many writers, I have several goals and aspirations for writing stories and books. Here is a summary of five key points:

  • For therapeutic reasons, to express myself, share my thoughts, feelings, knowledge, and experience with others
  • To meet new readers, reach out to a broader audience, and generate more collaborators
  • Amplify critical messages in the body of knowledge to create societal awareness of critical matters
  • Contribute to the body of knowledge with original input using my ongoing research, experimentation, and thought leadership
  • Gain social eminence to make a high impact in spreading the truth to help those who may need insights from my experience

This summary should suffice for now. Let me enhance my points by providing some relevant stories. Attached is my personal publication hosting my health, mental health, lifestyle, and self-improvement stories.
