Use the ILLUMINATION YouTube channel to create visibility to your profile and Medium stories.

Introduction

In my previous articles, I highlighted three important social media sites to amplify Medium stories for a broad audience.

The first one was about Quora Spaces.

The second one was about Pinterest Boards.

The third one was about Facebook Pages and Groups.

In this post, I want to introduce the YouTube channel of ILLUMINATION and ILLUMINATION-Curated. We developed this channel to help our writers to share their Medium profiles and stories aiming to attract new readers.

I will skip details on how to create accounts for YouTube as I believe many of us nowadays have a YouTube account.

My focus is to introduce our YouTube channel, how you can benefit from it, and how you can upload your videos.

We have a new publication for YouTubers.

Invitation to Write for ILLUMINATION on YouTube Publication

We rebranded the publication to ILLUMINATION Videos and Podcasts as we increased the scope of submissions.

Our YouTube coordinator and owner of the publication Aiden (Illumination Gaming) articulated the reasons in a new story.

1 — Introduce yourself

The most common use case for writers on YouTube is to introduce themselves.

5 — Introduce your books

How to upload videos to the ILLUMINATION YouTube channel

If you already use YouTube, you must have used an email address to register. You can only log in to YouTube and can be given access to a channel by using the email you registered.

Please note that using other email addresses will not enable you to obtain Manage access to YouTube channels if you want to upload your videos.

What is required

To upload your videos to our YouTube channel, you need to provide your email address. We also need your Medium account ID to ensure you are a contributor to our publications. You can send a request using this link. Please quote “YouTube access”.

Once we receive your application, we assign you a Manage privilege so that you can upload your videos at your convince.

Steps to upload videos

Step 1 — Start YouTube.com in your web browser.

Step 2- Log on YouTube using a Google account.

Step 3- Click on the icon of the channel on the right side of the screen.

You will see a screen of your channel similar to the illustration below.

In this example, the red circle button on the right represents the CREATE button. When you click on the CREATE button underneath there is an Upload Video option. Click on that option.

Step 4— Click on the SELECT FILES button

It is the circled button shown in the following screen capture.

Step 5— Type the name of your video file in the File name field and click on the Open button.

When you find MP4 file in this area, you will see the following screen.

Step 6 — Type the title name.

Step 7— Click on the NEXT button.

Step 8 — In the next screen, you have two optional actions.

You can either import videos to enhance your current video or pass them. They are not required fields.

Step 9— From the visibility window, choose Public.

The Private option is for your view.

The Unlisted option allows watching anyone with the video link.

You can also schedule your video from this window.

Step 11 — Click on PUBLISH button as shown on the above screen capture.

Your video is now published on the ILLUMINATION YouTube channel.
