Twitch is removing the Host Mode feature and replacing it with a shoutout feature, while Microsoft announces a more affordable Xbox Elite Series 2 Core model.
Abstract
Twitch, a popular streaming platform, is getting rid of a well-loved feature called Host Mode, which allows streamers to host another creator's stream and migrate their viewers. The issue with this feature was that viewers weren't able to interact with the new creator. Twitch decided to remove this feature and replace it with a shoutout feature, which will be available at some point this month. Creators can type "/shoutout [channel]" into their chat in order to shout out another creator. The author believes that the removal of this feature isn't necessary and that Twitch should rework the host mode to redirect viewers to the new creator. In other news, Microsoft just announced their Xbox Elite Series 2 Core model, which is the exact same thing as the previous Series 2 but a lot more affordable. The Elite Series 2 is priced at USD 179.99, while the Elite 2 Core is priced at $ USD 129.99. The reason the Core is cheaper is due to the fact that fewer accessories are included in the box. All the additional accessories which normally come with the Elite Series 2 can be purchased separately in the Complete Component Pack, priced at USD 59.99.
Opinions
The author believes that the removal of the Host Mode feature on Twitch is unnecessary and that Twitch should rework the host mode to redirect viewers to the new creator.
The author thinks that the new white color of the Xbox Elite 2 Core controller looks a lot better than the original Series 2 black.
The author has been using their Elite controller for quite a while now and it has become a little worn out, so they believe that the Core is the perfect controller for someone like them who needs a new Elite controller but doesn't want to pay the full price since they already have the additional accessories.

Updates on Current Gaming News #12
I believe, the removal of this feature isn’t necessary. Instead, Twitch should rework the host mode to redirect viewers to the new creator.
In this article, I will be covering some recent gaming-related news. To start things off, the streaming platform Twitch is getting rid of a well-loved feature called Host Mode.
The hosting feature allows streamers to host another creator’s stream, therefore migrating their viewers to another stream. But there was an issue with this feature.
Although most of the viewers were able to view the new creators’ stream, they weren’t able to interact with the new creator.
Views would have to manually search for the creator to actually join their stream. This creates the issue of viewers not creating meaningful connections with the streamers their watching.
Therefore, Twitch decided to remove this feature and replace it with a shoutout feature.
The shoutout feature will be available at some point this month. Creators can type “/shoutout [channel]” into their chat in order to shout out another creator.
In my opinion, the removal of this feature isn’t necessary. Instead, Twitch should rework the host mode to redirect viewers to the new creator.
This, alongside the new shoutout feature, would work a lot better.
Microsoft just announced their Xbox Elite Series 2 Core model. The new Core model is the exact same thing as the previous Series 2 but a lot more affordable.
The Elite Series 2 is priced at USD 179.99, while the Elite 2 Core is priced at $ USD 129.99.
The reason the Core is cheaper is due to the fact that fewer accessories are included in the box. The Core comes with:
Xbox Elite Series 2 Core
USB-C Cable
Thumbstick — Adjustment Tool.
All the additional accessories which normally come with the Elite Series 2 can be purchased separately in the Complete Component Pack, priced at USD 59.99.
The Core also comes in a new White color which, in my opinion, looks a lot better than the original Series 2 black.
I’ve been using my Elite controller for quite a while now, and even though it is a very high-quality piece of hardware, it has become a little worn out.
The Core is the perfect controller for someone like me who needs a new Elite controller but doesn’t want to pay the full price since they already have the additional accessories.
The new white color is just a bonus. This concludes my twelfth iteration of current gaming news.
