Updates on Current Gaming News #10
A large amount of the most played Steam Deck games from August were games that are also available on the Nintendo Switch.

In this article, I will be covering some recent gaming-related news.
To start things off, the battle royale game PUBG recently partnered with Mclaren to bring the Mclaren GT to the game. It will be brought in just in time for the 19.2 updates.
Players will be able to obtain a Mclaren skin, gear, emotes, a costume, and various other Mclaren-related loot.
This update will introduce a vehicle interaction feature in which players can equip the Mclaren skin.
Along with the visible interaction feature, players will be able to customize the color, brake calipers, and wheels of their cars. This is a very unexpected collaboration but we welcome it.
Recent data released by Valve show that most Steam Deck users are using the Steam Deck as an upgraded Nintendo Switch.
A large amount of the most played Steam Deck games from August were games that are also available on the Nintendo Switch.
This includes games such as; Cult of the Lamb, Stardew Valley, Skrim, Hades, and Monster Hunter Rise. However, Elden Ring and Spider-Man Remastered were also on that list.
The Steam Deck is clearly the best option for a Nintendo Switch form factor capable of playing AAA games.
It also seems that the Steam Deck could eventually replace the Nintendo Switch, in my opinion, since there are multiple emulation software that can be downloaded if Windows is installed.
Just recently, a new 3DS emulation software was released. Hopefully, we’ll see a reputable Switch emulation software soon.
1047 Games (the developers of Splitgate) recently announced in an interview with Digital Trends that the next Splitgate update would be its last major update.
The studio stated they no longer wanted to be known for “Halo with portals.’’
Splitgate is not completely shutting down, though. There will still be regular updates to address bugs, but there will no longer be any major updates.
On the 15th of September, the game will gain an unlimited time battle pass which will stay the same forever.
The team stated they wanted to start working on another portal shooter in the Splitgate universe with a whole different art style.
They mention the new goal isn’t to make a successful indie game but “a massive AAA game with the budget, with the team.”
The team stated they wanted to take this opportunity to address aspects of their game they were not completely satisfied with.
Personally, I’m sad to hear of no more significant updates. But I’m very excited to see what 1047 Games comes up with for their next portal shooter.
If any news arises regarding this new game, I will try to cover it.
This concludes my tenth iteration of current gaming news.
If there is any notable gaming news I missed, please don’t hesitate to let me know by leaving a comment in the comments section.
I would love to hear about it.
