Here’s How Minecraft Evolved Over the Years
Minecraft has come a long way in a decade. I’m just excited to see what comes next.

Introduction to Minecraft
First, I’d like to briefly introduce those who don’t know Minecraft first.
Minecraft is a 3D sandbox game developed by Mojang. In this game, there are two main game modes. The first is the Creative mode.
In this mode, players have the freedom to use every block and item in the game to create whatever they want, whether it be a house, 2D art, a city, a suburb, or even a whole territory.
The second is Survival mode. In this mode, the objective is to survive.
Most players take it slow to make a house and gather resources to achieve certain things in the world.
The main objective in Survival Minecraft is to kill the Ender Dragon, which is in another dimension.
There are a bunch of other things to do and achievements to get. Players also have the option to play with friends in a shared world.
As well as the option to host or join custom servers. You might find more information in the official site www.minecraft.net.
History of Minecraft
Minecraft was originally released back in 2011. Initially, it was a very barebone game with not much to work towards.
People liked it mainly to play the creative mode and build whatever they wanted. But over the years, almost every year, Mojang updated the game with new content, blocks, and items to enhance the overall experience.
New content included new biomes, monsters, revamped dimensions, new resources, and blocks.
Today Minecraft is very popular with a lot of content for players to experience, achieve and have fun with either alone or with friends.
I have a survival world I started with my friends, which we have been playing on for several years. We never got bored because just as we did everything, there was to do, Mojang had a significant update that got us back into it.
The main reason for this article is to present how Minecraft has evolved, not just in-game updates.
Not only has the primary in-game experience been improved, but the community has also made the game fun in a few different ways.
Many player-hosted servers are out there for various activities such as PvP (Player vs. Player), obstacle courses, Roleplay, build challenges and more.
I have played on several of these servers with and without friends, which has always impressed me. It’s an excellent way to enjoy the game without being stuck with the same two modes.
Minecraft also has an extensive modding community.
Let me give a short introduction for those who don’t know what modding is.
Modding is a short-term modification. Players modify existing games to change the look, mechanics, and gameplay to suit whatever they want. It’s virtually just creating a new game out of an existing game.
In terms of Minecraft, modders have created some awesome mods. One of the main ways people access these mods is through a third-party application called CurseForge (https://www.curseforge.com)
This is only available on PC. How it works is you download the CurseForge app. Also, make sure you have Minecraft downloaded.
Then you find a mod pack you wish to play with and download it. You can then run Minecraft through the CurseForge app. It will run a modded version of Minecraft without any extra steps.
CurseForge has made modding a straightforward process for Minecraft. The only downside is that it’s a little harder to play with friends compared to regular Minecraft.
You’ll have to either host your own server off your PC or pay for a server renting service to play on that.
The process of setting it up can be a little tedious but shouldn’t be too much of a hassle. Multiple YouTube videos give a tutorial on the process. Here’s a link to one I found helpful:
