The All-New PlayStation Plus Is Finally Here

PlayStation’s new subscription service, it’s like Netflix but for gaming

Purpose of the Article

I believe that all gamers have heard about PlayStation.

But today, I introduce a development by the company which will be of great interest to gamers.

For those who don’t know about gaming consoles, I briefly introduce them.

As you may know, some games are only offered on specific platforms. For example, you can only play Halo on Xbox and PC. And you can only play Super Mario games on Nintendo consoles.

Therefore, gamers choose the consoles depending on the games they want to play. But some gamers get all consoles as there are so many exciting games. For example, as a game enthusiast, I own a PlayStation. 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

PlayStation is a popular video gaming console similar to Xbox or various Nintendo consoles. Many people love PlayStation because it includes multiple exclusive games which can only be played on its consoles.

Update on All-New PlayStation Plus

I am pleased that PlayStation released the “All-new” PlayStation Plus subscription service for their gaming consoles, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, on the 22nd of June.

Before this update, PlayStation’s “PlayStation Plus” subscription gave players; two monthly downloadable games, exclusive discounts, cloud storage for saved games, and online multiplayer access.

Following the recent change, I noticed that PlayStation Plus now resembles Xbox’s “Game Pass”.

If you aren’t aware of what Xbox Game Pass includes, here’s a list.

Xbox Live Gold allows players to play online or with friends.

Access to hundreds of Xbox and PC games, including franchises from Bethesda Softworks, Indie games, Blockbusters, and even old original Xbox and Xbox 360 games.

The ability to play on PCs, phones, tablets, TV, and consoles from the cloud.

Free perks and exclusive member discounts.

Plus, access to any additional games which are added to the game passes regularly.

PlayStation is offering three tiers in their new PlayStation Plus.

The first is Playstation Plus Essential.

The same benefits PlayStation Plus members were getting before this update.

Pricing for the PlayStation Plus

I obtained the prices from the official PlayStation website.

The price remains the same as before at $9.99 monthly, $24.99 quarterly, and $59.99 yearly. Prices are in USD.

The second is PlayStation Plus Extra, which includes:

All the benefits from the essential tier.

A catalog of up to 400 PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games are downloadable to play, including blockbuster hits from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners.

The price is $14.99 monthly, $39.99 quarterly, and $99.99 yearly.

The third is PlayStation Plus Premium includes the following.

All benefits from Essential and Extra tiers.

Up to 340 additional games, including Playstation 3 games available via cloud streaming, a catalog of classics from the original PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and Playstation Portable (PSP) generations.

Cloud streaming access for all games included in PlayStation Plus via a Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and PC.

Time-limited game trials so players can try selected games before they buy.

The price is $17.99 monthly, $49.99 quarterly, and $119.99 yearly.
