My Observations of Mobile Games

If you’re like me, when you think of mobile gaming, you probably think of those mini-games on iPhone and android, such as Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds.

Those were the games I used to play on my first smartphone. But, of course, back then, mobile gaming could never compare to console gaming.

But times have changed, and mobile gaming is just as viable as console gaming. Moreover, due to modern smartphone technology, smartphone games have become a lot more complex in a good way.

Gone are the days when the only games we could run on our phones were 2D mini-games because mobile gaming is slowly catching up to console gaming.

Some Interesting Examples

Game developers such as Epic Games, Mojang, and PUBG Corporation have ported their wildly popular console games over to the iOS and Android platforms.

These games include Fortnite, Minecraft, and Player Unknown Battlegrounds. They are like the console variant aside from slight graphic differences to make the game run smoothly.

They can be played straight on the phone’s touchscreen and are even compatible with a controller.

Additionally, mobile players can still play with their console player friends. Therefore, for select games, there is no more need for a dedicated gaming console.

Some gaming and electronics companies have taken a leap in the mobile gaming world. Companies such as Razer and ROG have created smartphones intended explicitly for gaming.

They function exactly like a regular smartphone with the addition of some gaming-specific features.

The Razer Phone 2 has a robust mobile CPU, high refresh rate at 120hz, a 1440p display, and dual front-facing speakers. The Razer logo on the back even glows, and the color is customizable.

It is currently not available to purchase in many areas. However, here’s an Amazon link that may be helpful: https://www.amazon.com.au/Razer-Phone-New-Smartphone-Snapdragon/dp/B07H9V6PHZ

The ROG Phone 6 Pro was recently released. However, this phone is something else. It features a 165hz refresh rate and AMOLED display with a second OLED screen on the back.

It has a very powerful mobile CPU which runs at 3.2Ghz. In addition, it has a very high 18 GB of RAM. It also features dual front-facing speakers and three cameras on the back.

The ROG Phone 6 Pro has two USB-C ports and a headphone jack, which is rare on modern phones. As you can see, this phone is absolutely nuts.

Final Words

In conclusion, mobile gaming has come a long way from early smartphones. It has evolved to almost compete with console-level games on a device that fits in your pocket.

In addition, not only has the games themselves come a long way, but smartphones have evolved into different categories with gaming options.

I’m looking forward to what’s next in mobile gaming. My mobile phone turned out to be a mini console recently.
