Capes: A Superhero Game In Which The Bad Guys Have Already Won
The developers promised this type of diversity in the characters’ powers as well as “ethnicities, genders, hopes, and dreams.”
Imagine a superhero game in which the bad guys have already won and taken over. Well, that’s the premise of this new tactical RPG (role-playing game) called Capes.
The premise of the game explores a world in which supervillains have wiped out all the superheroes two decades prior to the setting of the game.
You play as a group of superheroes desperately trying to take down the supervillains who have been wreaking havoc for the past 20 years.
These said superheroes are heroes of the new generation and are now all grown up and ready to undo what the supervillains have done.
This is an idea I don’t think I’ve seen before in a video game. The trailer not only showcases the promise of the game but also displays some gameplay aspects.
Although not much gameplay is showcased, from what we have, it looks very interesting. Apparently, there’ll be a bunch of different superheroes to recruit with various diverse attributes.
It was developed by Spitfire Interactive and will be released sometime next year. The reveal trailer was recently released, which you can view for yourself via this link:
The developers promised this type of diversity in the characters’ powers as well as “ethnicities, genders, hopes, and dreams.”
The gameplay will be turn-based, with players rescuing civilians and taking on the bad guys in various missions.
You’ll also have the ability to combine the powers of your heroes to create new and lethal attacks. You’ll even be able to level up your attributes and efficiencies to create an even more powerful group of superheroes.
The premise of this game alone is very appealing to me, and I’m really looking forward to its release.
Just the idea of a world in which the supervillains have already won is a fascinating premise.
The gameplay also looks fairly intuitive and easy to learn. Sadly I’ll have to wait til next year to play this interesting game.
