Updates on NVIDIA’s RTX 40 Series
The upcoming GPUs look promising, so we might not need to buy a new GPU for another few years.
A Brief Introduction to Gaming PC components
First, let me give you a brief introduction to gaming PC components for new gamers.
The graphical processing unit (GPU) is designed to alter and manipulate memory to assist in the creation of frame buffered images.
GPUs are used in PCs, laptops, phones, and gaming consoles. As you can imagine, this is an essential aspect of computer gaming.
A very powerful dedicated GPU is required to smoothly run AAA computer games.
Updates On NVIDIA’s RTX 40 Series
NVIDIA is the leading manufacturer of gaming GPUs. Their most recent significant GPUs were the RTX 30 series.
They consist of the RTX 3060, 3070, 3080, and 3090, plus a “ti” variant for each, which is a higher spec variant. I use an RTX 3080ti on my current gaming PC.
Previous speculations suggested that Nvidia’s next line of GPUs (the RTX 40 series) would release in Q3 this year. But recent news on social media suggest the main launch could be pushed to Q4 or possibly early next year.
Not to mention the beefier 4090 would release some time after the main launch. Although the specs for the RTX 4070 and RTX 4080 have been speculated.
The RTX 4070 reportedly gets 12GBs of GDDR6X memory, while the RTX 4080 will reportedly get 16GBs of GDDR6X memory. Both cards’ memory will also reportedly be 21Gbps.
Interestingly according to recent speculations, the RTX 4070 will perform at the same level as the RTX 3090ti.
This is absolutely insane, considering the RTX 3090ti is currently the best GPU you can currently get your hands on.
Regarding the RTX 4080, it will have a whopping 33% performance increase compared to the RTX 4070.
Although we don’t have any information on the RTX 4090, you can just imagine how insane the performance will be, considering how powerful the RTX 4070 and 4080 will be.
I’m looking forward to the RTX 40 series so that I can run all my favorite games at the highest settings, in 4k, and at a high refresh rate.
I’m guessing these GPUs will be so good that I may not have to buy a new GPU for another few years and still have the freedom to play all new games at high settings.
Final Words
I’m very excited about Nvidia’s new line of gaming GPUs.
Not only will they have significantly higher performing VRAM, but they also have a significant performance increase compared to the current best GPUs.
These new GPUs could potentially last most consumers a few years without needing any upgrades.
