Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II News

3 Release Dates

As I have mentioned in a previous article, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be released in October with a beta period in September.

Here’s a link to that article:

Activision recently revealed that MWII would have different release dates for different things for other people.

For anyone who pre-ordered the game, players will have access to the campaign a whole week before the official release.

Campaign access for pre-order players will begin on the 20th of October.

If MWII is anything like other Call of Duty games, the campaign shouldn’t take more than a couple of days to complete.

For this reason, I don’t understand why they decided to grant access to the campaign a whole week before the multiplayer release.

Although early access to the campaign isn’t the main reason players are pre-ordering, it’s still a nice addition either way.

The official release for MWII will be on the 28th of October. This is when all players will have access to both the multiplayer and the campaign.

Anyone who pre-ordered will gain access to items exclusive to the pre-order.

There was also a Warzone sequel announced by Activision. This will apparently replace the current Warzone game mode that many people love.

If you are unaware, Warzone is a Call of Duty game mode in the Battle Royal category. It can be compared to games such as Player Unknown Battlegrounds and Fortnite.

The release date for the Warzone sequel has not been confirmed yet but will come after the main MWII release.

Just to clarify, here are the release dates in order:

MWII Campaign (Pre-order only) — 20th of October

MWII Multiplayer (Official release) — 28th of October

Warzone sequel (date not confirmed) — sometime after the official release

I assume Activision is going with staggered release dates to sustain hype over a more extended period of time.

Although I believe the players who get to access the campaign early will be underwhelmed due to the main two aspects of the game being unavailable.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will have staggered releases for certain aspects of the game.

This essentially creates three separate release dates. The first is the campaign on the 20th of October. The second is multiplayer on the 28th of October.

And the third is the Warzone sequel sometime after the official release on the 28th.

Aside from this news, I’m still looking forward to the beta period, which I will definitely be playing to see how the game will feel.

Let me know if you’re also keen to get into the beta in September.

Thank you for reading my short story. I wish you a prosperous life.
