Fans of Famous Twitch Streamers Might Bankrupt Due to Crypto Gambling Games
Not only are viewers being lured into gambling, but they’re also losing a lot of money, and some are forced to file for bankruptcy.
Twitch is one of my favourite gaming platforms. I have been interacting and observing platform for a while.
Twitch streamers can really influence their viewers into contributing to whatever they do on their live streams.
For example, if a popular twitch streamer plays and enjoys a game no one knows about, it’s likely many of their viewers will also play said game.
Although sometimes this can be a beneficial thing for both the streamer and the viewer, other times it can be harmful.
Many popular Twitch streamers have been playing an online crypto gambling game after being sponsored by them. A couple of these streamers include; AdinRoss and xQc.
Twitch has its own “Slots” section where creators usually stream gambling content. Currently, “Slots” is the sixth most watched category on Twitch.
This is surprising because it surpassed very popular categories such as; Fortnite, Minecraft, and League of Legends.
This is likely due to the very profitable deals these popular twitch streamers are making with these crypto gambling sites.
At the time of writing this, AdinRoss is live, with over 70 thousand viewers watching him playing this crypto gambling game.
According to a Bloomberg report, “one Twitch streamer made over a million dollars in one month thanks to his deal with this gambling site.”
Also, reportedly “this gambling site made over 100 million dollars thanks to their deal with other popular streamers.”
Clearly the gambling site and Twitch streamers are both benefiting and profiting from these deals, but I can’t say the same about the viewers.
Many of these streamers’ fans have been lured into crypto gambling via these upbeat streamers.
There have been multiple horror stories about bare bank accounts, cleared life savings, and one loan after the other.
It all seemed like fun and games through these Twitch streams with an occasional jackpot winner. But it didn’t work out the same for the viewers since they were not compensated like the popular streamers were.
At least when the streamers lost money, they still had extra money coming in thanks to the deals with the gambling company. But the same cannot be said about the viewers.
This is a pretty grim occurrence. I feel sorry for all those people that lost huge amounts of money through crypto gambling.
I’m just grateful I don’t fall into the trap of online gambling.
These streamers make it look like everyone can win big, but the harsh truth is, all they’re doing is advertising a product through a sponsorship.
Online crypto gambling has gotten out of hand due to popular twitch streamers and their huge deals with the gambling companies.
Not only are viewers being lured into the trap of gambling, but they’re also losing a tonne of money, and some are even forced to file for bankruptcy.
If you ever come across these Twitch streams, and if you are a new online gamer, you need to be careful for not to fall into the online crypto gambling traps.
Gambling can be addictive and adversely affect our mental health, causing anxiety and depression. Gaming itself could be addictive for some people and might get worse with gambling.
