This post briefly introduces cloud gaming and give update on Google search engine including cloud gaming as an embedded feature.
Introduction to Cloud Gaming
Possibly everyone heard about cloud computing. However, if you don’t know much about cloud gaming, here’s a brief introduction.
Essentially , cloud gaming utilizes data center servers from many parts of the world to stream games to users. Cloud gaming uses the power of cloud computing.
You might think of cloud gaming like Netflix but for gaming.
There is absolutely no need to download or install anything related to the game you wish to play. The games are rendered and played on remote servers, which users interact with on their local devices.
I have previously written three articles relating to cloud gaming. Here are links to them if you want get some background information reflecting my ideas and experience.
1 — Logitech G and Tencent Games Announces Handheld Cloud Gaming Console
Recently, a Twitter user named Bryant Chappel posted a post relating to a new feature on Google.
Here’s a link to the original post:
Here’s what the new feature entails.
In this scenario, let’s say you already have subscriptions to cloud gaming services on your device.
You find out about a new game, so you decide to search it up on Google.
The game pops up with an option below titled “Play.”
You have the option to immediately start playing a game from Google. No need to open up a specific application to choose a game.
This is such a convenient quality of life feature for gamers.
Sadly though, this feature is only currently available to certain people in specific regions. It’s also restricted to certain games.
But when this becomes a permanent thing compatible with all games and cloud gaming services, it will be such a cool feature.
I predict soon, we’ll be able to see a video of a new game on YouTube and have the option to immediately start playing without even having to close the YouTube page or app.
Final words.
Cloud gaming has come such a long way that we can actually launch new games through the Google search engine.
This is such a cool quality of life feature that I predict will be implemented on other various web pages and apps.
I’m looking forward to the day when we no longer need beefy consoles or computers to play our favorite games.
Thank you for reading my story. I wish you a prosperous life.
