The purpose of this post is to inform writers joining our publications ILLUMINATION, ILLUMINATION-Curated, ILLUMINATION Book chapters, Technology Hits, SYNERGY, ILLUMINATION’S MIRROR, and Readers Hope.
These publications operate on Medium. We enhanced collaboration capability using a tool called Slack. Our chief editor, Dr Mehmet Yildiz, will invite you to the Slack workspace via your registered email addresses to the writer application form. If you don’t receive an invitation from him, please leave a message on this article.
All our services, including the Slack workspace, are optional and free. More than 9,800 members have meaningful interactions and easily access publications resources and editors using our Slack workspace. We have 79 volunteer editors spread across several time zones to support your inquiries. Our editors are also writers like you. They understand your writing needs with empathy and compassion. They aim to help you gain experience and visibility. They are not paid or compensated financially. You can meet some of them profiled in this collection. There will be more editor profiles in this story.
Guidance for Publishing
We have seven publications serving various requirements of writers aiming to reach a broader audience on Medium. As our publications operate on Medium, all contributors need to adhere to the policies and rules of this platform.
Before submitting your stories, please review publication guidelines and other valuable guidelines in our educative artifacts to the starter kit. In addition, you can find our roadmap for ILLUMINATION Integrated Publications. We don’t censor your content, but our readers expect a basic level of English in your stories, so we ensure you meet this requirement. However, if you want to share raw content, we also have a publication to submit that type of content. Readers Hope publication is designed for this purpose. All other pubs require the use of structured language.
You need to pay attention to photos in your stories. For example, when you submit articles with copyright-free images and cite them correctly, your stories can be published much quicker. Please review the image handling policy before submitting your articles.
We don’t accept stories with copyrighted images. It is against Medium rules and publication policy. Our editors check plagiarism and reject plagiarised content. We remove your accounts and content from our publications when you attempt plagiarism. Medium also penalizes plagiarists. We clearly warn our contributors upfront due to dire consequences. We tolerate language mistakes and support you to correct procedural and writing errors; however, we do not tolerate plagiarism.
Your success is vital to our team. It gives us joy. Therefore, we created writing challenges to boost your success. These challenges can be helpful for your growth. You can also gain new followers and readers by joining challenges and writing prompts from publications or other writers. For example, you can join the 100-day writing challenge. We also created a writing prompt to introduce yourself and your favorite stories. Your readers help you generate income on Medium. Your content is paid based on reading times of your stories by paid members. Several performance metrics such as followers and claps don’t matter as much as reading times. Nonetheless, we know that followers matter for those who need to get at least 100 followers to meet the requirement of joining the Medium Partner Program. You can submit short-form stories to our publications. Currently, we accept three short-form stories per publication within a day. We believe that becoming a top writer is helpful to earn more income on Medium. In addition, top writer status might increase your chance of gaining more readers. This story may guide you on How To Become A Top Writer In Three Months.
So, please pay attention to the needs of your readers so that you serve them with your complete focus and attention. Obtaining feedback and establishing meaningful engagement with your readers is essential to increase our audience and improve your reading times.

Publications are tools for writers to amplify their content. We created several publications appealing to different audiences. Our most significant publication, ILLUMINATION, is visited by over 40,000 unique members daily and gained 2,105,719 minutes of reading this month. We accept articles about multiple topics for our generic publications such as ILLUMINATION, ILLUMINATION-Curated, ILLUMINATION’S MIRROR, and Readers Hope. These pubs have no topic restrictions apart from a few topics, such as porn, conspiracy theories, and defamation. Medium does not support publishing certain types of content, so please check the platform rules. We don’t censor content as long as stories meet Medium policies.
ILLUMINATION-Curated is for experienced writers. Senior editors select the contributors for this publication using stringent criteria. If you are an experienced writer, we allow you to write for this publication upon your request directly. Readers Hope is for beginners. You can submit raw content to this new pub. We don’t edit content submitted to Readers Hope. But, our editors provide valuable and helpful guidance via private notes or in our Slack workspace to members. Onboarding Pack for New Contributors
Illumination Integrated Publications support writers at all levels, aspiring, experienced, accomplished, and influential. All types of contributors are equally essential to us. We don’t tolerate toxic behavior against aspiring writers who want to find their voice. We remove online bullies and report to Medium. Nevertheless, we always encourage giving and receiving constructive feedback within the platform rules. For example, we don’t allow defamation and discrimination of our writers.
Our editors encourage new writers to find their voice in a safe and supportive environment. All writers start from somewhere, learn gradually, and build skills. Some writers might learn faster, and some learn slower. It is their choice.
You can publish both draft and self-publish articles on Illumination Integrated Publications. However, we highly recommend draft submissions to gain better exposure from the publication readers. It is your choice.
If you have curated articles from closed publications such as Ascent or PSILY, you are welcome to transfer them to ILLUMINATION-Curated. We enjoy giving a home for previously distributed stories. For example, contributors who joined us from PSILY moved their stories and gained new readers on ILLUMINATION-Curated.
Our main goal is to contribute to diverse and inclusive writing and reading community on Medium. All Medium members are welcome to join our writing and publishing journey. We support all levels of writers, help them cross-pollinate, and gain benefits from the readers of our pubs.
We see publications tools for the growth of contributions. So, our contributors are not exclusive to our pubs. As a contributor, you can join and contribute to other publications. We support your writing and marketing goals. You may remove your articles when you need them. We don’t mind if you leave our publications. No permission is required to leave us. The only requirement is to follow Medium rules if you want your stories published in our publications.
If you are interested in creating your own publications, we might help you promote them. For example, Dr Mehmet Yildiz helped several writers to start their publications. He promotes them in his circles. We don’t compete with other publications; we collaborate with them.

Here is a brief guide on adding stories to publications
A common question is how to add articles to publications. It is easy and quick. To submit your draft or self-published stories to our publications, you can click on the three (…) dots in the edit mode placed on the top right part of your screen.
When prompted for the publications listing, select one and click on the submit button. Next, you need to choose the publication you intend to publish. When your story is submitted to our publications, editors will review it. If the story meets Medium rules and our guidelines, the editor will publish it.
If you don’t see our pubs on the list, please let us know to add your account again. Sometimes glitches happen on publications and our process. Please remember, we don’t ignore any ethical writer on Medium. Our doors are open to all ethical members who want to serve their readers.
