Writers need visibility
Invitation to Illumination on YouTube Publications to all writers
This publication’s purpose is to create a bridge between YouTubers and Medium writers using our YouTube channel and seven prominent publications. YouTubers are also bloggers. We believe that Medium is an excellent platform for them to tap into a new audience.
I touched on the importance of YouTube for our writers in my editorial bulletin yesterday. It is encouraging that several writers are interested in participating, but they don’t know how to start. In this post, I want to give you practical tips to start.
We activated and started our channel yesterday with only ten subscribers. Yes, it is a tiny step. All initiatives begin with the first steps. I am realistic and pragmatist in our entrepreneurial efforts. Overnight success is a myth.
I have the same vision and approach to YouTube. We started with ten followers today, but within a few years, I aim to have 1 Million followers. Is it possible? Yes, everything is possible when we develop a vision, strategy, plan, passion — and more importantly — action to grow.
Writers need visibility for success. Simply put, no visibility, no readability! Period. As the second largest search engine, YouTube is an excellent opportunity to create visibility for your profile and content.
We have an advantageous position because of our supportive and collaborative writers and readers as part of our publication. We have a motivating and uplifting culture. Let’s leverage this excellent capability.
Here are a few practical tips to get you started with YouTube promotion.
Practical tips to get started
I want to give you a few examples to get you started with YouTube. Starting small is an optimal way toward success. We start crawling, walking, then running. This natural metaphor can apply to any entrepreneurial initiative.
Tip #1:
You can tell your story in a plain narrative. Check the sample from Karen Madej 💛. You can contact Karen about how she created this fascinating story.
Tip #2:
You can create a short promotional clip with animations. Check the sample from Arthur G. Hernandez. You can learn from Arthur how he created these graphics and transitions.
Tip #3:
You can create a short message introducing yourself and send a message to your fellow writers. Check the sample from Suntonu Bhadra. You can contact Suntonu about how he recorded this clip.
Many thanks these four writers who pioneered this initiative. They are our seeds and we will cultivate the soil to flourish.
