The easiest path to becoming a top writer is to have a viral story. I provided practical tips to increase the chance of having viral stories on Medium.

The second and obvious one is to write prolifically and post regularly.

But to sustain your top writer status, you need to write content guaranteed to get views and reads, as I explained in the attached story.
Purpose and Context of this Collection
Medium has a valuable feature for recognizing top writers. The status can be seen on our profile pages. There are some benefits of having a top writer status. In my opinion, this status can give an idea to our readers of the focus areas in our writing practice.
My primary motivation is to help our readers discover our top writers with over 70 tags.
I will share my views on other benefits of having a top writer status on Medium in another article based on discussions with our top writers.
