We are delighted to add you to our publications as contributors. Welcome!
Thank you for joining ILLUMINATION Integrated Publications supporting more than 15,500 writers on Medium. We apologise for delay to inform you. Some of our editors are unwell. As usual, our workload for managing these publications is challenge as we depend on volunteers. Our publications don’t generate any income so we cannot afford hiring paid editors. We hope you understand our position and forgive delays. Despite all, we do our best to serve contributors as you are valuable to us.
The purpose of this post is to inform new writers joining our publications ILLUMINATION, ILLUMINATION-Curated, ILLUMINATION Book chapters, Technology Hits, SYNERGY, ILLUMINATION’S MIRROR, and Readers Hope.
If your account is not added to the requested publications, please leave a comment on this article so we can add you. In addition, you may contact our editors on our Slack. Please leave a message with your Medium ID on the channel #writerstobeadded on Slack.
We can’t remove writers due to glitches in the system. The situation was reported to Medium. We don’t take offence if you leave our pubs. We respect your choice and support your needs. Nothing is obligatory in our pubs, all is by invitation to help you gain visibility.
Our chief editor, Dr Mehmet Yildiz, will send you an invitation to the Slack workspace via the email address you registered to our writer application form. If you don’t receive the invitation, please leave a message on this article or you may apply again via the web form. Some emails might go to your spam folders. In fact we found some of the valid applicants in our spam folder. It is difficult to understand how the mailing system determines spam. But we always check the spam folder as a practice.
Our Slack workspace is optional and free to join. But, networking on Slack might help you build your audience and create meaningful relationships with other writers and editors. Slack is the central communication platform for the delivery of our services. Our Slack workspace includes more than 9,500 members. You can contact our editors via the Slack tool easily and quickly. We have 76 editors almost across all geographies.

Guidance for Publishing
Our publications run on Medium. Therefore, all contributors must adhere to the policies of this platform. Before submitting your stories, please review publication guidelines. Our publications support different writers at all levels.
When you submit stories with copyright-free photos and cite them, they can be published quicker. Please review the image handling policy. The article explains how to cite and where to find copyright free photos. We don’t accept stories with copyrighted images. It is against Medium rules and publication policy.
We check plagiarism and reject plagiarized stories. If writers attempts plagiarism, we also remove their accounts and stories from our publications. Plagiarists might face penalties from Medium and legal entities. Plagiarism is the worst crime a writer could do. We always warn our contributors upfrong due to dire consequences. We tolerate errors but not tolerate plagiarism.
We created some writing challenges for writers. These challenges can helpful you to get started. And you can gain new followers and readers if you join challenges. Here is our 100-day writing challenge. We have a writing prompt. Please also check this challenge for prolific writers who want to post multiple short stories a day: 1,000 Short Posts in 100 Days .
More readers can generate more income on Medium. You are paid based on reading times of your stories. Other metrics such as followers and claps don’t matter much. Of course followers matter if you need to meet basic 100 followers to join Medium Partner Program. Meaningful engagement with your readers is essential to increase our audience and improve your reading times.

We don’t put any restrictions for these pubs apart from a few restrictive topics topics, such as porn, conspiracy theories, and defamation. Medium does not support to publish certain types of content so please check the platform rules. We don’t censor content as long as your stories meet Medium guidelines.
On ILLUMINATION-Curated we publish stories from experienced and accomplished writers. Our editors specifically select the contributors for this publication using stringent criteria. Readers Hope serves absolute beginners. It has a unique goal for aspiring writers. One of the goals of this publication is to allow raw content. We don’t edit stories submitted to Readers Hope but we provide guidance via private notes and on Slack workspace. Onboarding Pack for New Contributors
We support all levels of writers — aspiring, experienced, accomplished, and influential — . We don’t discriminate writers based on their levels. All contributors are equally important to us. We don’t tolerate arrogant behaviour against aspiring writers. We remove online bullies from our publications.
Our goal is to encourage aspiring writers to find their voice in a safe and supportive environment so that they can gain experience. As our chief editor keeps highlighting, no one was born as a writer. We all start from somewhere, learn gradually, and build our skills. Some learn faster and some of us learn slower. It is an individual choice.
We give flexibility to publish both draft and self-publish articles to support our contributors. But, we recommend drafts to get best exposure from the publication readers. It is up to you.
If you have curated articles from closed publications, you are welcome to transfer them. We are happy to give a home for previously distributed stories. Many contributors joined us from PSILY transferred their stories and they gained new readers.
Writers of our pubs have different professional backgrounds, skill levels, and expertise. Our goal is to crate a diverse and inclusive community. Everyone is welcome. We support all types of writers by cross-pollinating them to get the best out of our pubs. We don’t discriminate writers but we don’t tolerate toxic behaviour harming the platform. Medium is a peaceful and supportive platform for writers and readers.
Contributors are not exclusive to our pubs. As a contributor, you can contribute to other publications. We support your goals. You may remove your articles if you want to. You may also leave our publications with no permission. There is no obligation from our end. The only obligation is to follow Medium rules if you want your stories to be published on our pubs.
If you want to establish your own publications, we might help you promote them. Dr Yildiz helped many writers to start their publications and promoted them in his circles.

Publishing on Medium and adding stories to publications is easy. New writers keep asking this question when they join us. To publish stories in our publications you need is to click on the three (…) dots in the edit mode. You will see the publications listed when you submit your story. You can choose the relevant publication to send your story to. After that, just click on the submit button.
When you submit your stories, our editors will receive your story and review it. If it meets Medium rules and publication guidelines, they will publish it.
If you don’t see our pubs in the list, this means that there was a glitch so we need to add you again. Please leave a message on this post.
