Of all 460 of the stories featured by Medium in July 2020, these were the publications they were sourced from.

In this report, we will take a look at the top 20 publications that had their stories featured on Medium’s homepage the most in July, 2020. We will examine the formatting — word count, story length, and topics — used by the writers as well as engagement metrics, such as claps and responses.

There were 46 publications that had their stories featured by Medium in July, so after the top 20, we will take a brief look at the remaining 26 publications. Along the way, we’ll see a graph of the stats from the top 20 publications in order to see how they stack up against one another.

Unlike all prior months of this year, all but one of the top 10 publications are owned and operated by Medium; one lucky publication beat out a Medium-owned publication for a spot in the top 10.
