Discord Is Finally Coming to PlayStation
Recently several sources have stated that Discord will be fully implemented “in the coming months” on the PlayStation platforms.

In May of last year, the PlayStation team announced their partnership with Discord.
They stated they intend to bring the Discord platform to the Playstation 5, along with all the features present on the PC application.
Here’s a brief introduction if you don’t know what Discord is. Discord is a VoIP (Voice Over IP) and instant messaging platform.
You can chat in voice calls, video calls, and text channels and send photos and videos while on private or public channels. Discord gives users the ability to create communities called servers.
You may have heard about people mentioning a Discord server, and this is what they might have been referencing.
It is primarily used by gamers on PC as their main chatting platform but can be used on platforms such as Android, iOS, macOS, and soon on the Playstation 5.
I frequently use Discord on my PC to chat with my friends and even join gaming communities for games such as Rocket League and New World.
When PlayStation made the announcement of their partnership with Discord, my first thought was, “Thank god, finally!”
I usually play games with my friends who don’t own a gaming PC but instead own a PlayStation console.
Since I prefer to play on a PC, my friends always have to join my Discord server on their phones in order to chat with me.
I’m sure you can guess their audio quality is usually garbage. Sometimes they’re too loud, and sometimes I just can’t understand or hear them.
With Discord coming to the Playstation 5, PlayStation users will no longer be restricted to the PlayStation party chat or the use of Discord through their phones.
It will make everyone’s life a lot more bearable since PlayStation users can just use their gaming headsets or earphones they typically use while gaming.
Recently several sources have stated that Discord will be fully implemented “in the coming months” on the PlayStation platforms.
The integration will be included in version 7.00 after version 6.00 releases around mid-September.
According to this, we can assume Discord will be implemented towards the end of the year.
The addition of Discord has been in the quality assurance phase for the past few months.
The progress on the implementation is apparently “going very well.” Discord is finally coming to the PlayStation platforms, and users could not be happier.
Not only will it make online communication a lot easier for PlayStation users, but it will also be more bearable for PC users.
Finally, we will have a cross-platform chatting application available, closing the gap between PC and PlayStation.
