The Original Witcher Game Is Being Remade in Unreal Engine 5.

Previously, CD Projekt Red (the Polish studio behind The Witcher games) announced that they were working on a new project which was codenamed Canis Majoris.
Although at the time, we didn't know what this new project was going to be, CD Projekt Red just recently announced that Canis Majoris is a remake of The Witcher on Unreal Engine 5.
CD Projekt Red stated that they would be collaborating with Fool’s Theory, which is another Polish studio. Unfortunately, fans are going to have to wait sometime to get some more details about this remake. CD Projekt Red stated the following.
“We want to do this right, so please be patient — it’s gonna be a while until we can share more details.”
The studio is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year since the first Witcher game was released in 2007. After the success of the other Witcher games following the original, I completely expect this remake to be a top seller.
Apparently, CD Projekt Red is “providing full creative supervision” since Fool’s Theory will be leading development on the project. The studio also stated that the game is in the “early stages” of development.
“It’s still early and we want to ensure that the game is created with the utmost care and attention to detail, therefore, while we’re excited to share the news with you, we want to ask you for patience as it will be a while until we start talking about this project in detail.”
CD Projekt Red studio head Adam Badowski also stated the following.
“The Witcher is where it all started for us, for CD Projekt Red. It was the first game we made, ever, and it was a big moment for us then. Going back to this place and remaking the game for the next generation of gamers to experience it feels just as big, if not bigger.”
Needless to say, this remake will be a highly anticipated release amongst the Witcher fanbase, and I’m sure it will immediately be a top seller.
