Free Items and Double XP Are Coming to Overwatch 2 This Month
Also, a few statements from Blizzard Entertainment

After a few months of anticipation, Overwatch 2 was released with a very rough start. Not only did the game have a few player-bought content issues but also a ridiculous queue time which affected my friends and me as well.
Not to mention the bizarre requirement to add your phone number to your account in order to actually play the game.
But now, after these issues have been fixed, Blizzard Entertainment made a blog post on their website offering players free loot plus a double XP event which is coming soon.
They stated that any player who logs in between the 25th of October and the end of the first season (December 6) would receive the following free of charge:
- A Health Pack Weapon Charm
- The Cursed Captain skin for Reaper
The blog post also confirmed a few double XP weekends, which are coming soon. The double XP weekend dates are currently unknown, but I’m sure Blizzard will update everyone on their blog posts.
This double XP event will be especially useful for casual players like me who really want to unlock the new heroes through the battle pass but don't want to sit there and grind for hours on end. Hopefully, I can unlock the new hero Kiriko by the end of the season.
Additionally, the blog post also stated that there will be an update released this week which will include “further stability updates.”
In the case that more issues arise, Blizzard decided to post these bugs and their fixes on a designated “Known Issues” page.
The blog post states the following:
“We’ve largely stabilized the game overall, and we’ve made a lot of progress in fixing or improving issues some of you are facing. We’re committed to consistently investigating issues as they arise, working quickly towards fixes, and being transparent with our community on the status of Overwatch 2.”
