Yet another ridiculous DOOM port

DOOM is a first-person shooter game initially released in 1993. There have been many other DOOM games released in the past 20 years on various different platforms, but today we’ll be talking about the first and most famous one.
Attempting to run DOOM on very basic electronic devices has become a fun challenge in the gaming community. At this stage, I would say it’s surpassed a meme-worthy threshold.
The question “Can it run DOOM?” is a commonly asked question that is usually answered with Yes, it can. Many people have somehow managed to run DOOM on various different devices. Here are examples of just a few of many:
Calculators
Cameras
Flip Phones
Pregnancy Tests??????
A YouTuber named Samperson recently posted a video of him playing DOOM on his “unmodified” Notepad application on his computer. The gameplay looks surprisingly good, considering it literally runs on a text-based application.
The game runs using various compiled text characters which form together to make a UI that actually looks like DOOM. It even runs at 60fps.
Samperson (Sam Chiet) stated:
The footage is not sped up.
I have not modified the code of notepad.exe at all.
This is fully playable interactive live, zero fakery.
This is exactly what it looks like.
He also stated that he would be releasing this version of DOOM soon, so if you would like to play DOOM “the ideal way to play,” follow this link to his Twitter, where he’ll most likely post a download link within the next few days.
