ILLUMINATION LOGO

We are planning new projects and initiatives to cross-pollinate among our writers. Based on feedback from our writers, several initiatives that we introduced earlier are making excellent progress.

As we grow, we need to scale everything. The policies, process, and procedures are being reviewed and updated by the editorial team. We added a few more editors. I will update their profile soon. In the meantime you can meet them from this story.

A new initiative

Today, I want to start with an initiative for writers. My proposal is to create special projects, feature them, and distributed them to target groups. I am creating a detailed profile of our readers based on constant feedback provided by various means.

You can consider this another writing challenge, but this challenge require structure, commitment, and dedication to your selected initiative. We may even call them special projects.

You choose a theme or topic. By keeping the same kicker name, you can create multiple stories related to your chosen topic. I recommend you start with a topic in your expertise area. Let’s say social media. You can create numerous stories about Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube etc. Your kicker should be social media.

Based on themes, I will create multiple distribution lists and redesign our publication page based on these initiatives. I will also distribute the right topics to the right readers. This is expected to increase our views and reading times.

For example, one of our editors Dr John Rose has started a new initiative. He called it The Gaia Project. I copy it for your reference. You can join to this project if you are interested.

You can run the initiative yourself, or you can collaborate with other writers in similar fields. You can be the owner of the project and allow other writers to contribute their stories to your project, or you can join other projects as a contributor.

To manage this project, I need you to inform me either by tagging me in your stories or providing a link in our Slack channel.

We have a Slack channel called #projects. I can collect your project stories from the channel daily. If you don’t have Slack access yes, you can request from this link with a title “Slack Request”.

We already have 450 writers in our Slack group collaborating daily.

Accelerating YouTube Initiative

Another initiative is accelerating YouTube presence for writers.

Our readers want to meet our writers. They want to see their faces and hear their voices. We have a platform ready. All you need to do is to create a five-minute video to introduce yourself.

For example, one of our writers Stacy Belinsky introduce herself today, and several readers loved it. I created a story about it for your reference.

Let’s meet our new writers.
