Curated Collection — Nostalgia Series
Mike’s Favorite Stories on ILLUMINATION Publications — #88
Featuring engaging stories that you may enjoy as well

Dear avid readers and fellow Friends of Medium, I hope you had a great long weekend. I compiled 88 collections & Lists, giving you reading options from different topics. It is short, but I believe there is something for everyone. I aim to find valuable stories buried under the dust for your enjoyment.
I invite you to consider giving supportive feedback and sharing the stories you read on social media. My goal in creating these collections is to increase views and the engagement rate among avid readers as much as possible to support our authentic and inspiring writers.
I also give some quick updates for the writers and followers of our pubs.
Yesterday, we added many new writers. I introduced them in my previous collection.
Recently, Dr Yildiz wrote about the detrimental effects of hate speech on social platforms. As you may know, we don’t allow any harmful content in our publications. ILLUMINATION Does NOT Publish Content with Defamation, Discrimination, and Hate Speech. You may learn from his experience and thoughts.
Recently, we posted our new newsletter. It will be great for the new writers. We added some more new writers so you may find their profile at the end of this post and consider exploring their stories.
Our dear ILLUMINATION is four years old. By leveraging Aiden’s older video I penned a short story using my funny Aussie accent. I usually don’t speak or write like that. I hope you will enjoy it.
I wrote a story about my thoughts on bulk suspensions. You might have heard that Medium suspended many accounts. We wrote a short piece about it if you want to learn about the details.
Dr Yildiz shared his perspectives by looking at the suspension issue from both sides. His story made me more compassionate about both victims and Medium. As my account was suspended a few weeks ago, I know how painful it can feel. But the platform needs to remove useless leeches.
We had to deal with scammers trying to sell Medium’s claps and highlights on Fiverr. I checked that site and saw that 300+ others are selling them. Please be careful with these scammers, and always report them.
Aiden created a cool YouTube video for ILLUMINATION-Gaming readers and writers to delight them with some boost guidelines.
In a special episode, I shared some boosted stories I read. Some readers enjoy exceptional pieces so I add it here.
Aiden covers the new ones, and I focus on older stories to give readers a nostalgic experience. I add a few news ones, too, from my daily reading, or sometimes editors ping me to add exceptional stories. Each story is a gem worth your time. You may dive in, engage, and spread the word on social media so these stories can reach more readers. I tried to follow most writers I hadn’t met before, but the system stopped me after a while. I learned that I could follow only 150 writers a day, so I will try another day.
Aiden’s Collections
Here is his latest one with my friend’s link for anyone to read it. He has already created 115 collections, always finding gems from hidden corners.
Now another great editor, The Sturg joined the curation team and he posted his first and second well-designed collections. He put lots of effort into creating this. I know how challenging and time-consuming it is to create these collections. So please engage in his collections and share them on your socials.
Update on Boosting
If you are into boosting things, recently, Dr Yildiz answered frequently asked questions from writers and readers about the boost program on Medium, which gave me a few surprises as a writer and editor. I wish I had read something like this a year ago. No wonder none of my stories got boosted, causing me to pause writing, but he shows us hope.
Aiden featured our boosted stories, which I finished reading all of.
As a boost nominator, Aiden introduce stories of frequently boosted writers. So far, he did four and will post more as they can be helpful to new writers.
ILLUMINATION-Curators compiled our boosted stories. You may find exceptional stories from this. Collection of Boosted Stories from ILLUMINATION Publications — V5. They also created a new Reader’s Club post with many great stories. ILLUMINATION Reading Club #9

Influencing Non-Members to Become Members
You may check this open letter from Dr Mehmet Yildiz to non-members. He observed that a large number of readers and writers are non-members who do not contribute to the platform’s growth. I believe you will find his points valuable and relatable.
To influence non-members, I listed all the boosted stories I read last month and provided my thoughts, including some common patterns in these exceptional stories. You will love them. There is something for everyone, as these exceptionally well-written stories cover many topics and different writing styles.
