Meet Raymond M.E. Aguirre
Editor of ILLUMINATION Integrated Publications on Medium

In this post, we introduce Raymond M.E. Aguirre, one of our new editors who recently joined our editorial team of Illumination Integrated Publications on Medium. He supports our multiple publications.
Raymond is a relatively new writer on Medium, but he is not new to writing. He has considered himself a writer since childhood. Whether he was drafting books in his school notebook or scribbling poetry and songs on a napkin, writing has played a massive role in Raymond’s life.
In 2015, he wrote a book called The Hill: A Novelette, a work of short fiction that he used to cope with the emotional turbulence he experienced as a young immigrant.
“Sebastian Zaragoza is dead. The news came just as a young man is trying to come to grips with his own life. To sort things out, the young man decides to come to The Hill, a place of solace for the disillusioned young people of a small town, and the place where his friend Sebastian died. Unfortunately, The Hill is also the place where he begins to find himself in the same deadly spiral that led Sebastian to jump off The Hill’s edge. The young man must act fast in order to avoid the same fate.”
Several years later, he wrote another book called Caregivers and Other Stories, which includes a collection of short stories that expands on his immigrant experiences.
In 2022, Raymond decided to plunge into the burgeoning creator economy. Before that, he spent nearly a decade as a nurse. His professional experience includes working in long-term care, rehabilitation, home health, hospice, and wound management settings.
Currently, Raymond still works as a nurse, though he now devotes more time to content creation and some freelance writing. Raymond writes regularly on Medium, although he also produces content on Twitter and LinkedIn. From time to time, he also publishes videos on YouTube.
Raymond’s passion for the creator economy has deep roots.
He has observed the works of many creators and sees the world of content creation as a relatively untapped opportunity for many people. Raymond firmly believes that the creator economy is more than a trend. Instead, he sees its potential to transform lives for the better. For Raymond, anyone can succeed as a creator if they have the right mindset and support to back them up.
Because of his views, Raymond is passionate about sharing his knowledge and reflections with other creators as he goes through his journey.
And because of his background as a nurse, he sees his role as a nurturer for new creators. He understands the pains and struggles that new creators face and wants to be the person who helps them go from zero to one.
His goals include building up his coaching service and creating helpful digital products for creators. Eventually, he plans to create a thriving online community for other passionate digital creatives. He has already begun setting up the foundations for his goals, but he understands that work still needs to be done.
Raymond is unabashedly committed to building in public and sees his creations as a constant work in progress.
In many ways, Raymond sees his role as editor for ILLUMINATION as an opportunity to mentor other creators. he started his creator journey feeling alone until he realized Medium’s vibrant community.
And as an editor, he is committed to ensuring that this sense of belonging on Medium remains strong for all writers now and in the future.
When possible, he leaves feedback on the stories of other writers. He does this to ensure that creators feel they are being heard.
So whether you are a struggling new creator or a seasoned one who wants to connect with another passionate creator, Raymond is a great person to approach. He is open to meeting anyone who shares his passion for displaying their creativity on the internet.
Raymond also focuses on improving quality and sharing his novel ideas with our chief editor Dr. Mehmet Yildiz and the editorial team in our Slack workspace.
