Which thoughts bring you a wave of relaxation?
Sunny Side Updates with The Brain is a Noodle || Week 34!

💧 For me, the word moist is uncomfortable — is it just as odd and weird to you too? Maybe it’s a remnant of my earlier teen self giggling at anything to do with something vaguely erotic, remaining even though I don’t giggle at vaguely erotic things anymore. Maybe it’s that water genuinely disturbs my senses, described here:
once wet, all moist, uncomfortable, pruney, somehow, a single stray hair already made its way halfway down my throat, yet another, stuck like a leech on my back so much it feels like a bug, trying to crawl right up SITTING UNCOMFORTABLE
Whereas for other people, water is calming. Swimmers, scuba divers tell me about how calming it is to be immersed in water, feeling hugged by the water. See? How awkward that sentence was? I don’t even know how to describe the experience in words. 😅
yet others sit comfortably embracing the comforting envelope of water, swimmers, scuba divers, talking about the serenity of returning to something as comforting as their mother’s womb, surrounded by amniotic fluid LOVED AND SAFE
Which brings me to this week’s shortform question:
Shortform Theme of the Week
This week’s shortform theme is: Which thought brings you that wave of relaxation? (Because moist sure doesn’t evoke that sentiment in me, but perhaps the calmness of the sea, the waves, the currents brings you peace?)
Submit your shortform piece (<150 words) now to share your thoughts! (For prompt-based pieces, you may exceed the 150 word limit, but aim for 150 words if the idea of a longer piece overwhelms you!)
This is just a guideline for inspiration! You may submit shortforms related to other concepts if other ideas come to you! :)
