The flow’rs of romance, do not water them with tears for such salt water only corrodes their beauty, leaving them wilted and dead.

I have borrowed the opening two lines from songs; “Flowers of Romance” is a track by Public Image Limited, and “don’t water them with your tears” is a lyric from “Kiss the Dirt” by INXS.

Thanks to Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) for the fantastic prompt, inspired by this response her Twitter request for a string of emojis from which to write a poem:

Tagging Tree Langdon Jeff Ehren Hilda Carroll Anthony O'Dugan Kyomi O'Connor Pretheesh Presannan Jack Lincoln Pablo Pereyra Michael Burg, MD (AKA Medium Michael Burg) David Rudder and anyone who would like to join in.

How to join: include the original post of the person who tagged you for reference and tag 5–10 other people (or simply ‘tag all’) who might be interested in this prompt! (Ps, there’s no deadline!)
