Summary

The web content discusses the phenomenon of spectrophilia, focusing on the personal accounts of three women who claim to have had sexual relationships with ghosts.

Abstract

The article delves into the intriguing and unconventional experiences of three women, Amethyst Realm, Amanda Teague, and Sian Jameson, who have publicly shared their stories of engaging in sexual relationships with spirits. Amethyst Realm gained notoriety for her intention to marry a ghost she affectionately calls "Ray," detailing their romantic encounters and eventual breakup. Amanda Teague, an entertainer, described her marriage to the ghost of a 300-year-old Haitian pirate named Jack Teague, including their physical interactions and the challenges that led to their separation. Sian Jameson recounted her encounter with a ghost named Robert, whom she claims provided her with the most satisfying sexual experiences of her life, despite the relationship being short-lived. The article explores the complexities of these relationships, the women's emotional connections to their spectral partners, and the public's fascination with the concept of ghost sex.

Opinions

  • Amethyst Realm believed her relationship with her ghost lover was as real as any living-world romance, emphasizing the profound connection she felt.
  • Realm also expressed that her ghost lover, Ray, became inconsiderate and possibly involved in negative spiritual activities, leading to their breakup.
  • Amanda Teague was initially skeptical about her ghostly suitor but eventually fell in love and married him, believing him to be her soulmate.
  • Teague later suspected that her ghost husband was draining her energy and ultimately sought an exorcism to end their marriage.
  • Sian Jameson found her sexual experiences with the ghost Robert to be superior to those with living partners, describing the encounters as amazing and very real.
  • The article suggests that while these stories may seem fantastical, they reflect the genuine beliefs and experiences of the women involved.

‘I Had Sex With a Ghost!’

The weird world of women who bed the undead

As someone who loves horror movies and writes paranormal erotica, I’m fascinated with ghost sex — and the people who get off on this fetish, known as spectrophilia. For some, sex with ghosts is not just an idea they think about within the confines of their one-handed reading — for them, it’s all too real. Or so they say. The following are the stories of three women who have gained notoriety for claiming to have sexual relationships with ghosts.

Love in Another Realm

Amethyst Realm made international news when she announced that she had not only been sleeping with a ghost lover, but she planned to marry him. And the lucky apparition wasn’t her first spectrophiliac experience: According to her, she had been with over a dozen ghosts before she met her betrothed. What made this ghostly affair much more significant than the others? As Realm explained in an interview with Bennett Kogon of Dangerous Minds:

“It was just something that felt so much more real and serious. Kind of in the same way if you met someone in the living world that you fell in love with instantly. It was love in first sight, in a way. ‘Love at first sense,’ maybe. When you meet someone, you look into their eyes and feel something. You feel that energy. For us, it’s just that energy.”

That energy was ignited when they met in the Australian Outback as she vacationed. She assumed this was going to be a mere vacation fling, but the connection was just so strong that when she boarded the plane back to the United Kingdom, he actually followed her. Once she sensed his presence, she says she simply could not contain her giddiness of being reunited with her love.

“I was happy and excited — so excited that we had to do something about it. So we headed to the plane loo and, well, I am now a member of the Mile High Club,” Realm told The Sun.

And that was how their love affair really took off. Nine months later, Realm said that her ghost lover — who she calls “Ray” because when he first revealed himself to her physically, he appeared as a ray of light in a photograph — popped the question during a trip to Wookey Hole Caves in Somerset, England. “That’s when it happened. There was no going down on one knee — he doesn’t have knees! But for the first time, I heard him speak,” she explained. And what did Ray have to say? Those four little words, “Will you marry me?”, which she said echoed throughout the caves, and her heart, as soon as he uttered them.

After the engagement, Realm began diligently planning her nuptials as any bride-to-be would. She wanted to have a Pagan handfasting ceremony in the English countryside, where the couple would symbolically connect for the rest of their lives. But unfortunately, Realm says she had to call it quits with Ray. In an October 2020 interview, she told This Morning that the couple had irreconcilable differences and he refused to change.

“I think maybe he fell in with a bad crowd when we were on holiday. He just started becoming really inconsiderate. He’d disappear for long periods of time. When he did come back, he’d bring other spirits to the house and they’d just stay around for days,” she said. “I think he started doing drugs and partying a bit much.”

After having a talk with him about ending their relationship, Realm said she put black tourmaline around her house and did a sage cleansing to make the breakup complete.

Pirating Lust

It seems like the romance between Amanda Teague and her ghost lover, Jack Teague, was destined to happen. She was an entertainer impersonating Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, and he was a 300-year-old Haitian pirate who had been executed for his exploits on the high seas in the 1700s. He first appeared in her life while she was meditating, and although initially she wasn’t interested, he continued to pursue her so she decided to give him a chance and have a conversation.

Over the next several months of communicating with Jack, Amanda found herself becoming smitten. And things progressed, as things do, to the point where the relationship became physical. Well, as physical as you can get with a supernatural entity.

“It is well-known that people often feel a spirit touch their hands, their face, or their hair. You can literally feel the physical act of what the spirit is doing to you, and the spirit can feel it too,” she explained to The Sun.

They not only felt a physical connection, they felt a deep love for each other, Amanda said. Over the next two years, the couple continued dating, having sex, and even experienced a pregnancy scare. They decided to marry, which presented a unique problem for the blushing bride: Posthumous marriages are not legal in the United Kingdom or Ireland, so after consulting an attorney, the couple wed in a place that was quite familiar to the groom — the water.

The ceremony was held in the Atlantic Ocean off the Irish coast with 12 people in attendance, including the wedding registrar Amanda hired, the shaman who performed the ceremony, and the spiritual medium who said “I do” on behalf of the groom.

Amanda was so ecstatic with her relationship that she encouraged other people to pursue what she had.

“He is my soulmate,” she said. “I am so happy, it is the perfect kind of relationship for me. There are a lot of people out there who don’t know about spiritual relationships, but it could be right for them — I want to get the message out there.”

However, while it seemed like a fairy tale union at first, Amanda says there was trouble in paradise a few years into the marriage, but she tried to ignore the warning signs. Turning a blind eye to the problems was a mistake that culminated in Amanda becoming so ill that she had to be hospitalized — which she believes was her husband attempting to kill her.

“When spirits stay around too long, they need an energy source and unfortunately Jack was using me as an energy source,” she said.

After her experience, which ended with an exorcism to rid herself of her husband for good, Amanda now warns women who are interested in having a relationship with a spirit about the negative consequences.

However, this would not be the last time Amanda would get involved with a potentially dangerous man — except this time, he’s a flesh and blood human. In 2021, it was revealed that she has struck up a relationship with English journalist Ian Bailey, who was convicted of the 1996 murder of French filmmaker Sophie Toscan du Plantier.

An Ephemeral Connection

Sian Jameson’s connection with a ghost began as many relationships do — as a rebound. After ending a long-term romance, she needed to get away from all of the surroundings that reminded her of her pain. She rented a cottage in Wales and enjoyed the peace and scenery, which included a painting of a man from the 1800s.

After moving in, Jameson began having sexy dreams and within a few months, the man in the painting presented himself to her.

“He was fully clothed — in a loose white shirt, a neck scarf, and old-fashioned breeches,” Jameson told Wales Online. “He had a kind of shimmer to him as if he was behind a fluttering voile curtain. I told myself I was dreaming and rolled away from him.”

But her ghostly visitor had another idea and began his seduction. He started by touching her waist, which she said felt light and cool, and it progressed from there.

“We started to make love. He was very gentle and stroked my body tenderly. During the lovemaking, I sensed all kinds of things about him — his name (Robert) and when he lived (over 100 years ago),” she said. “We didn’t speak — it was as if he was communicating with me telepathically. His body was soft and light. Even when he moved on top of me, pressing down, he felt almost weightless. It was very strange but the sex was amazing. I was totally perplexed about what had happened. In fact, I started to wonder whether it had happened at all.”

She fell asleep convinced that it was just another erotic dream, but Robert came around again the next morning for another romp. When this encounter was over, she watched her ghostly lover get out of bed, get dressed, and disappear as he walked toward the stairs.

Jameson was hooked. She couldn’t get Robert out of her mind and was thrilled when he came back to sex her a third time — the last time. She was left heartbroken once again and admits to have fallen in love with this spirit and was devastated when he disappeared after their final lovemaking session.

Jameson is now in another human relationship, and she even told her partner about her romps with Robert. She said her boyfriend finds the story funny and believes she was just having a vivid sex dream.

However, for her, it was very real — and very satisfying. In fact, she says it’s better than any other sexual experience she’s ever had.
