Hello Globetrotters!

How is your week going so far? Hope all is whipped cream with cherries on top!

🍒🍨🍒🍦🍒🍰🍒🍧

Speaking of food, we have lots of great foodie stories for you to indulge in, but first…

Is it just me or has it been a sort of sleepy, lethargic month so far? Is September just like that? Sleepy September? Yes I think so!

At this very moment I’m feeling so incredibly sluggish — like I need some toothpicks for my eyes and tacks for my bum! Going back to bed sounds pretty good at this very moment.

But no! Awaken!

These newsletters are my way of reaching out to everyone in our little travel community. It’s my way of bringing everyone together and sharing our love of writing and reading travel stories.

So, to pique your travel story reading interest and boost our community factor, I’ve lit a campfire… s’mores anyone?

While enjoying the gooey sweetness… in our minds if nowhere else… how about I feature three of our best and most lovable writers! Yes! Here they are: Adrienne Beaumont, Osan Fernando and Simon Whaley.

I believe I will do these features more often. I love promoting the work of our talented writers.

Adrienne Beaumont

She’s one of our editors, and also one of our best and most prolific writers. Adrienne’s a top travel writer and is responsible for some of the most read stories on Globetrotters. She also helped put this pub on the map when it was just starting out!

Whether it’s writing about Pompeii, her not so pleasant experience in Israel or how to save money of airfare she always has something interesting and engaging to add to the mix. Check out her Spotlight Story: “Globetrotters Writer Spotlight — Adrienne Beaumont” as well as these latest travel stories:

And of course she always gives back to our community by reading, commenting, helping writers, providing story recaps and featuring her favorite stories to read.

Osan Fernando

She’s a dentist! She also provides a wealth of fun and interesting stories for us to read. With currently 2.7k views, her most read story is: “California — Yellowstone National Park — California In Seven Days”.

Osan always provides us with fun Monthly Challenge submissions and other beautiful stories as well as her Spotlight Story: “Globetrotters Writers Spotlight — Osan Fernando”.

Simon Whaley

I thoroughly enjoy the stories by Simon Whaley. He offers a great mix of fun and interesting. The story that first endeared me was: “Wordsworth’s Lake District”. I’m a huge fan of William Wordsworth.

Here are a few other great stories to check out as well as his Spotlight Story: “Globetrotters Writer Spotlight — Simon Whaley”.

Story Recaps

Our latest story recap was put together again this week by Jillian. Thanks Jill! ❤️ This is a great resource for catching up on stories you may have missed.

Reminder that this month’s challenge is headed up by Jillian: “Globetrotters September Monthly Challenge — The Harvest and The Food”. See her latest contribution: “Every House Has a Grape Vine In Bulgaria”.

Here are the challenge stories published in the last week. I do think some of our writers were going a little Fear Factor on us with talk of tripe, tendons, organ meat and fish eyeballs 🤢🤮😆🤣:

And last, but certainly not least, I contributed one of my own foodie stories: “A Celebration of Food on Globetrotters” by JoAnn Ryan

New Writers

Our new writers added this last week. A big welcome to all!

Marci Renée, Ingrid H. Turner, Elke Van Hoye, Casey Lawrence, Brett Jenae Tomlin, Markdomain, Sheila Tracy, Ari Love
