What to Do When You Sense The Call of God
To access the power only God can give, you may have to walk down a very narrow path

Years ago, when I had a spiritual awakening and felt God calling, I started seeking and searching for the truth. I read the Bible and other sacred scriptures. I listened to every podcast I believed would help me navigate my path and read every book I thought would be helpful. I studied men and women and discovered that there are many people who lack power and are unable to do much besides talking a thousand words.
As God began to reveal to me the kind of work and the dimension he would have me walk in, I knew I would need power. I knew I would need to spend a good amount of time in the presence of God seeking his face and his kingdom before I could receive that kind of power. To access the kind of power only God could give, I had to walk down a very narrow path.
I made that decision to follow the narrow and uncomfortable path that God had laid out in front of me otherwise I would have to join the band of people going through the wide and comfortable gate misleading and deceiving themselves and other people, speaking all kinds of things with no power. I went on a lonely journey to explore God, the universe, and spiritual power.
In solitude, I began to study the lives of men and women who have been used mightily by God. I studied the lives of visionaries, sages, prophets, apostles, healers, and other great people. I studied the men and women with a true anointing from God, and they all had something in common — power from God.
When Moses stood before Pharoah in the ancient days, there was very little said, but after the conversation ended, we all know it was an encounter of power.
Without power, you will not be able to do what God is calling you to do. You will run around in circles and you will grow weary. You will fail and fall to the ground and without power, you’ll remain there.
It is for this reason that you must consistently contend for spiritual power when you sense the call of God by developing an intimacy with the Holy Spirit.
I knew that when I returned from the journey, I would be met with people who were hurting on a spirit and soul level. I knew I would be teaching those who felt lost and completely alone. I knew I would be working with the broken-hearted and the crushed in spirit. I knew I would be guiding people out of the darkness and I knew it would take power to be able to touch the hearts of those people.
This was a matter of life and death and so I devoted my life to my purpose. My life was no longer my own. I had become a vessel for God to work through me. I was to study everything that piqued my interest and then sift through the truth, the twisted truths, and the complete lies. I studied many things of the new age — astrology, numerology, tarot, crystal healing, the law of attraction, etc. I studied many things from the ancient days too — the workings of the Holy Spirit, the gift of prophecy and discernment, faith, the spiritual realms, etc. In the end, I had to sift through the truths and walk away from the rest. I let go of many of the things of the new age. Most of them were only doctrines of men. Faith does not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
This is why the truly awakened will sooner or later find the things and the doctrines of the new age to be exhausting and unfulfilling. God is not in it. It is just talk and has no true power to stand upon.
There are many lives that have been overcome by the darkness. I watch in shock how the enemy has won cheaply over the hearts of men who have no idea what is happening.
Whilst I let go of the things that were not serving me, I was still working to reach that power and authority from God before I could fully step into my purpose. I had no message for the people of God until I had that power. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
I needed to have a first-hand experience before I could teach. I studied and sought after God until the Spirit of God came upon me. And when the Holy Spirit of God came, so did power.
When you sense that call, you need to consistently contend for power from God. It is that power that will strengthen and protect you when the journey gets hard. And it gets hard simply because of what you carry. You will face giants on every mountain. There are spiritual doors that will not open unless by the power of God.
After your awakening, you will come to a point when you are tired of where you are and will ask God to show you the way, the truth, and the life he wants for you. You will cry in desperation for the power to stand and the strength to withstand all that comes against you.
The most important thing to do is to surrender your life and the things of the world and seek God first and his righteousness. As a result, you will be given the strength, the power, and everything else you need to fulfill God’s purposes. And when that power comes upon you, it will drive away every fear and there is nothing that you can’t stand. This power gives you everything you need for a godly life through the Word and the knowledge of the One who has called you.
Surely. The Word is folly to those who are perishing, but to those who are called, it is a source of great power.
