We are delighted to add you to our publications ILLUMINATION, ILLUMINATION-Curated, ILLUMINATION’S MIRROR, Technology Hits, and SYNERGY.

Thank you for joining our publications. Welcome to our large writing and reading community on Medium. Our publications operate on Medium and comply with rules and policies of Medium. We expect all writers to follow the rules of this platform.

ILLUMINATION is a significant publication hosting stories of many writers and and giving reading options to readers. ILLUMINATION is a unique, diverse, and inclusive publication covering almost all topics across several disciplines.

ILLUMINATION is currently among the top 70 most followed publications on Medium, out of 15,440 publications. 74,500 Medium members follow this publication now. We completed our our 7th milestone recently, and still growing fast.

You will receive an invitation from Dr Mehmet Yildiz to our Slack workspace. This virtual workspace is our primary communication and collaboration platform. We have around 6,400 members. You can find out about Slack in this story.

You are all welcome to join Slack group and start collaborating with other Medium writers.

For ILLUMINATION, you can write about many topics as long as your stories meet Medium rules and policies.

Medium currently support only 30 editors per publications. We have 63 editors however not all of them have access to ILLUMINATION due to the constraints of Medium. To cover our gigantic workload, we created a mirror version of ILLUMINATION and allocated new editors to support the workload. You can submit your additional stories to this new publication.

We recommend submitting only one story to ILLUMINATION or ILLUMINATION-Curated per day. The rest of your stories must be submitted to ILLUMINATION’S MIRROR. We designed the mirror version for our prolific writers. We provided you with access to both publications in case you want to submit more than a story a day.

Your contributions are valuable to our publications. The diversity and variety brought by our new writers delight our valued readers. Our discerning readers use ILLUMINATION and ILLUMINATION-Curated as a front page.

These two large publications now followed by around 90,000 readers registered to Medium. We also have many readers from external sources.

We have established two new publications.

The first one is Technology Hits for a specific audience interested in technology matters.

We also created a new publication for specific requirements of writers. It is called SYNERGY. The purpose of SYNERGY is to bring many Medium writers who also publish in other platforms such as Vocal Media, News Break, Hub Pages, Patreon, Substack, and many other freelancing platforms.

Guidance to benefit from our publications

Here are some essential guides so you can produce joyfully.

Our readers expect quality content. We strive to meet readers’ expectation.

You can find ILLUMINATION related articles and writer resources on ILLUMINATION Blog publication. You can bookmark and follow this new publication designed to address needs of writers.

We redesigned ILLUMINATION front page. We removed all publication related articles and hosted them in a blog publication. Our aim is to give more space to stories of our writers. Details of update can be found in this post.

Practical Guidelines

1 — Please submit your best work for readers.

Your stories must be the type of content that you want to read.

2 — Caption [copyright-free photos] with source links.

This is common concern. In fact it is one of the most time consuming and stressful situation for our editors. Editors are tired of leaving comments and wait for responses from writers who neglect captioning photos. All photos must be caption with source links. We recommend using copyright free photos e.g. stock photos from unsplash.com or pixaby.com. If you add your own photos please clearly explain the copyright status.

3 — We don’t accept plagiarised content.

We only accept stories written by you. Medium does not accept plagiarism. It is an illegal act. Our publications have zero-tolerance for plagiarised materials. Our editors diligently monitor and detect plagiarism by using different methods and various tools.

4 — Initially, please submit only one story a day.

Considering contributions from thousands of writers, it is not possible to cater to multiple submissions from each writer.

Our prolific and experienced writers can submit up to three drafts within 24 hours to ILLUMINATION and ILLUMINATION. Since they submit high-quality materials, we don’t have to spend too much time on these types of submissions.

Due to current editorial limitations by Medium, we created a new publication to load balance ILLUMINATION. If you write multiple stories, you can submit one to ILLUMINATION and the rest to ILLUMINATION’S MIRROR.

Until new writers improve their writing skills and gain acceptance by readers, we recommend them to submit only one story a day. This restriction is for writers who are not familiar with the fundamentals yet.

The good new is that we are now using short-form stories. We allow additional three short-form stories per publication. Details are in this story.

5 — Please check and respond to your private messages.

Medium allows communication between publications and writers only via private messages. If your private messages were turned off, you would not receive a notification. Please check your story for * sign, which indicates a private message. This sign can usually be on the upper part of your story.

Editors may request you to fix an issue in your story. Please acknowledge and address the issue in a timely manner. We cannot hold stories for more than 24 hours in our queue. If no response is provided, we will return the story.

6 — Platform rules and expectations of your audience.

We are working on a large and complex platform.

It will be useful to learn the rules of the platform and get to know your audience.

7 — Check Publication Conduct Guidelines before submitting your story

8 — Quality checklist for beginners

Please use this checklist before submitting your stories to our publications.

When you submit acceptable content, your stories can be published faster. You can reach out to your audience quicker and gain more readers.

9 — Amplify your stories

Writers must take personal responsibility to create visibility. One way of increasing visibility and reading times of your stories is to amplify them meaningfully.
