A 4-Minute Hack That Can Help You Fearlessly Write Online and Create Part-Time

It helped me write 405 articles in 2 years

When you work a demanding 9-to-5 job, optimizing your processes to generate more content in less time is the key to showing up and writing consistently.

Writing online comes with its own set of challenges, risks, and the fear of trolls and rejections.

It takes a hell of an amount of courage to write online and publish your thoughts for the world to see.

When I started my writing journey 2 years back, I vividly remember the hesitation and the time it took me to hit the “publish” button.

The fear of the unknown, the possibility of rejection, and the self-doubt about my writing skills, and the thought that I am not good enough.

Getting the courage to write online and publish takes guts.

In the last 2 years, I have done many experiments and changed my writing systems, and routines to find thing that works for me.

It helped me to generate great ideas, and new concepts, and let me explore various topics.

If you are an aspiring writer and want to create part-time, use the next 4 minutes to have a breakthrough in your journey.

You’re worth it.

So many dreams never actually see the daylight because you are good at self-rejection.

  • How many times, you didn’t apply for a job because you are not skilled enough?
  • Never publish an essay because who will read it?
  • Never tried entrepreneurship because 99% of business fails.

I was no different than anyone else.

It took me weeks to publish my first blog on Medium.

When I started posting workout videos on Instagram, my prime fear was “I don’t look athletic.” “Who will go to watch because I am not a professional trainer?”

It let me procrastinate a lot and getting a yes from yourself is the biggest hurdle of your life.

Believe that you have value and you are good enough.

Even when you think otherwise.

  • Permit yourself to try newer things.
  • Come out from a constant loop of self-rejections.
  • Permit yourself to fail.

No one else can make you do something if you are unable to convince yourself.

Give yourself a levy that you have value and you are good enough to try.

On your day 1, you don’t need to be an expert.

Put the enough work and reps and you will become an expert.

If anyone can do it, you can do it.

Believe in that.

Once you start seeing this way, the writing will come easy to you.

Writing is for everyone.

Understand that writing is not exclusive to professionals.

Everyone is a writer in one way or another.

  • You write work emails every day.
  • Text messges to friens, family.

So you already have what it takes.

Too many people think to start writing online, they need a professional degree.

The internet offers tutorials and resources to help you learn the craft of writing.

When I started writing online, I didn’t know

  • how to structure my essay.
  • how to summarize it.
  • what makes good writing.

In the last two years, I learned a great deal about writing craft and the art of creating an amazing story.

If you think you are a bad writer, think again.

My first 10 articles had typos, grammar mistakes, and bad formatting, but this is how I learned.

Because I started identifying the areas I need improvement.

And that happens with anything you do in your life.

In your job, you don’t become an expert overnight. You learn, and do some hands-on work to reach to pro level.

Like any skill, writing improves with practice and repetition.

Start writing just for you.

Begin by writing for yourself.

Much like how I started sharing my fitness journey and the lessons I learned, use writing as a means of self-expression and reflection.

It was for me to remind myself to show up, and build consistency.

And it became sort of my motivation to show up on the mat every day.

It’s similar to writing as well.

Since I was a kid, I loved writing journals.

Putting everything on paper at the end of the day was something I cherished, to reflect, to reassess, and to do things I want to.

Writing for yourself also helps you check in with yourself, identify your emotions, and triggers, and take you a step closer to self-awareness.

So write for yourself because you want to.

Write for you, maybe for your future self or younger self.

This could be a great start, isn’t it?

You can’t win without losing.

From my writing journey, when I got rejected from Medium publications without any feedback, I felt heartbroken.

And it made me believe that I don’t have what it takes to write online.

When I saw the subpar articles were getting published, I became anxious and self-critical.

However, it let me create my publication to publish articles.

Many of you don’t start something because of fear of failure or rejection.

To get anything good in life, rejections and failures are inevitable.

That’s the truth, if someone says otherwise, it’s a lie.

So instead of fighting the fear, embrace it.

Take it as a part of the process. A journey to your milestone.

The book “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Jeffers, Susanhelped me to reshape my belief about failure, hope it helps you too.

  • Fear is good. It lets you put your best foot forward.
  • It makes you care about things other than yourself.
  • Don’t let fear stop your writing.

Let it be used to enhance your writing.

Permit yourself to write online and to see what happens next.

You will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Now go write.

Then hit publish and share the link, I would love to read it.
