How to Become a High Paying Content Creator with Minimal yet Effective Efforts
There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you― Maya Angelou

I am a new writer and have been posting my articles on Medium since January 2021. Until October, I was posting one story per week. Since November, I started posting two stories per week and it drastically changed the view I am getting on my stories.
I am still in the learning phase and trying different things to find what is going to work and what is not. If you are a new writer and haven’t figured out anything or are looking for another perspective on how you can become a productive content creator without burning yourself — read this article and I am sure you will find one or two useful things.
It doesn’t matter really how many articles you publish every month
I have seen many creators giving advice on writing 20 or more articles per month, it’s a lot of articles and almost every day you need to publish to keep up the numbers. If you are a part-time writer, this number can be an overreach.
I think publishing 1–2 articles per week is good to get your rhythm and find what you like in writing. Once you get it, you will be able to produce more.
Read other writer’s articles, books
Writing more is not just about writing. It’s about reading more. I am sure hardly anyone gives this advice.
“If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”― Stephen King
But I feel if I read more I generate more ideas and my articles become more informational and knowledgeable. I gain value from my books and articles I read every day.
I usually spend nearly an hour reading and spending time to note down my learning or anything that I find useful and can help me with my writing.
Quality over Quantity
I get it, it’s a creator economy or what it means to online creators. From my articles, I observed, the articles where I was hell vulnerable and shared my personal experience did better than the ones that had less personal viewpoints.
“One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple.”― Jack Kerouac
It’s not always easy to share your deepest darkest thoughts and share your vulnerability and life.
I have been very open in some of my articles and I received more comments, claps and what not. These articles took me more than 10 days to write and in fact nearly the same time to publish because I didn’t know how people were going to react and the fear of getting trolled or abused.
Focus on quality before quantity. Create multiple small content pieces on different but related topics. You will find out which topics get the most traction. You will also find out when you have fun and what is easy for you.
Start small but stay consistent
When I see a creator publishing new content several times a day, I always wonder how they do it. Are they doing it full-time? Do they have help? Maybe they are just super productive. Or what if they are publishing content they built over months?
Starting writing short articles may be a page long with 300 words before you reach 1000 words.
Your first attempt is not going to be a masterpiece. With practice, you can evolve your writing each day. Take it easy. Take your time to refine and learn.
Find your topics you are interested in
You don’t want to be in a herd. Write on topics you are passionate about or may consider yourself an expert.
It will help you to get ideas easily and as you already have expertise on certain topics, people will like to hear your opinion.
There is a unique spot for each creator. What matters is the balance between efforts and results. There are always different ways to create and broadcast content.
Schedule your posts and share as many as platform you can
I mostly write on weekends and most of my stories are in a good shape with multiple revisions. And I later schedule them for the entire week. So that If I am stuck up with something else, I don’t need to remind myself to publish my articles.
Schedule your posts as much as you can and also you can share on various social media platforms that you might use like LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram or anything else you might be using it.
I am sure this article is going to help you stay active and consistent with your writing.
All the best with your writing journey!
