Purpose of the Post

One of my interest areas is to read life lessons on Medium and other writing platforms. Learning from mistakes and successes of other people can be invaluable in life.

I joined Medium recently as my college supervisor in college referred me to Dr Mehmet Yildiz, owner and chief editor of Illumination Integrated Publications on Medium to mentor me.

Until last year, I did not know the existence of Medium. As an avid reader, Medium’s content reading value resonated well with me.

Therefore, I joined Medium and became a paid member giving me limitless reading opportunities.

During this time, I gained a top writer badge in social media. In a month I also gained the required number of followers and became part of the Medium Partnership program.

I am grateful to my supportive readers on Medium. I shared my gratitude and appreciation in a post.

In addition, gratefully, Dr. Yildiz agreed to mentor me to become a writer on Medium. He onboarded me successfully on his free Slack workspace having 12,000+ members and introduced me to some of the editors supporting his publications.

As a giveback, I volunteered to coordinate his YouTube channel aiming to raise profiles of writers contributing to his publications.

Dr Yildiz also helped me to establish a new publication called Illumination on YouTube and Illumination Gaming.

I introduced several writers on YouTube such as Karen Madej, Dr. Preeti Singh, Dr Michael Heng, Julius Evans, Bill Abbate, Carla Woody, Shashi Sastry, Arlo Hennings, Ph.D., and today Lawson Wallace. In addition to the mentorship of Dr Yildiz, I learned a lot from his personal stories. Each story provided me with unique life lessons.

Moreover, his easy-to-read stories are packed with valuable information mainly backed up by science. I recently read his personal stories compiled in a collection that gave me easy access.
