Here’s How I Recovered from the Covid Virus Quickly with Five Lifestyle Steps
The Covid virus finally cornered me despite diligence, but I was well-prepared ahead of time to deal with it effectively.

Purpose of the Article
The purpose of this story is to briefly introduce my recent experience with dealing with the Covid virus. My goal is to provide practical tips by using my case as an example.
I have been investigating infectious diseases for a long time as part of my holistic approach to health and well-being. Preparing ourselves ahead of time is a preventative approach. However, we also need to be aware of emergency procedures as each case is unique and can be potent.
In earlier days, Covid sounded like a joke to some people. However, after seeing so many people losing their lives and suffering from the side effects, its severity was understood globally.
Infecting with the Covid virus was undoubtedly challenging. However, it was effective for me to deal with it by leveraging a unique mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual approach. I believe that anyone can get this virus. It does not discriminate.
It didn’t occur to me that the Covid virus would find and affect me as I acted highly cautious.
After a long battle, I was finally cornered by the Covid virus, but I had prepared ahead of time.
My first realization of Covid happened last year when my wife was infected and severely impacted. The neurological effects of the Covid virus were a genuine concern to us.
“If you get this virus, anyone can get it,” said my mentor, Henry, whom I called as soon I learned about it. I always call Henry whenever I have a challenging situation in my life.
Henry, who has been a qualified psychotherapist for over a half-century, adds a spiritual perspective to my problems. I introduced him to readers in a story about my stolen car with a laptop and passport.
Ironically, to my surprise, Henry also got it three days later. Even worse, my extended family members and around 80% of my neighbors also got it.
Unusually last few weeks, Covid infection rates in Australia, where I live, have been intense.
Fortunately, all of us were fully vaccinated, so no one was hospitalized, unlike my wife’s situation last year.
Let me first explain how the virus found me and how it affected me. Then, I share my protocol to deal with it, effectively reducing my symptoms and expediting my recovery.
Here’s How I Got the Covid Virus
Since March 2020, I have worked from my home office with little exposure to people. If someone visits my office, including family members, I wear a mask and keep at least three meters distance. This diligent approach has protected me from potential infection so far.
A few weeks ago, one of the family members came from college. He looked awful. As his shoulders and neck hurt severely, he asked me to massage them briefly. With empathy and compassion, I tried to ease his pain. The next day he felt worse.
My wife also got concerned and tried to help him. But unfortunately, it did not dawn on us that he had covid until he started coughing and sneezing. My wife had similar symptoms in the past, so she wanted to test him with the home kit we purchased from the pharmacy.
In 15 minutes, he tested positive. My wife and I were negative during that time. However, the next day wife started coughing and sneezing. She informed me of the bad news. I had no symptoms, so I did not test. However, I was careful with them, keeping my distance.
Unexpectedly, two days later, I had a sudden shiver which hadn’t happened in the last three decades. Then a minor throat discomfort started but ended in an hour. My wife advised me to test and stay on the safe side.
To my surprise, the result was positive. It was an unusual feeling. It didn’t occur to me that the Covid virus would find and affect me as I acted highly cautious.
What Happened After the Incident and How It Affected My Body
The first approach was not to panic and stay calm.
The symptoms were mild compared to other family members and neighbors. They were not hospitalized, but they had to stay in bed for several days. I did not.
Day 1: I felt a low sore throat for an hour on the first day. Then it disappeared.
Day 2: On the second day, I started sneezing for an hour. After that, the sneezing stopped. My energy levels slightly lowered.
Day 3: On the third day, the coughing started with a minor neck ache. However, in a few hours, both coughs and neck pain stopped.
My sleep was excellent. So I thought it was gone.
Day 4 and 5: The fourth and fifth day was unusual. I lost smell and taste.
Day 6: During the sixth day, all symptoms disappeared.
When I tested it, the result was negative.
Several other family members, friends, and neighbors were still sick. No one followed my protocol as they found them unusual. It was their choice, so I respected them.
However, I decided to share my experience, thinking some readers might be interested in gaining perspectives from my approach and customizing them for their needs.
The critical point is, like my previous health conditions, I approached this situation holistically too.
Here’s How I Dealt with the Virus to Expedite My Recovery
This section covers how I coped with the virus and recovered in six days. I only focussed on the key points that expedited the healing process and made a real difference in recovery.
1 — Acceptance and Meditative Visualization
Whenever I have a new situation, I first accept it as is. As informed by Rumi centuries ago, there might be a reason for every visit to our psyche. Resistance does not help in dealing with a situation. But acceptance does, from my experience.
After acceptance, I started to get acquainted with the existence of the virus in my body. I visualized the virus during the deep meditation sessions.
Rather than cursing it, I approached it with softness and affection mentally. When I started a mental conversation with compassion, the virus spoke to my intuition. I plan to document those meditative sessions in another article similar to my reflective approach to gain a mental vision of the 50th century.
I asked my defense system to dance with the virus rather than attempt to kill it immediately. I visualized my immune cells dancing with it and keeping the virus exhausted. However, the body gets exhausted while dealing with it.
The virus was persistent and ambitious in achieving its goal. However, my defense system did not give up. I wanted to empower the body with my mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical power.
Meditating three times a day helps me to keep my sanity and improve my health. I increased it to six times as a treatment method during this period. The key point is to reduce the unnecessary stress from thoughts and emotions created by the fight of the body with the virus, even though I visualized it as a dance and collaboration.
As I worked from home on a new design project, I took a break after each hour ensuring to work in a flow state to keep my stress low. Meditation helped me to enter the flow state faster.
2 — Increased Fasting Window
The next decision in my plan was to have long-term fasting to activate the healing energy with deep ketosis.
I already intermittently fast every day on a one meal a day plan. This regime provided me with many health and well-being benefits. The biggest benefits were to improve my defense system and activate self-healing mechanisms of the body, such as autophagy and mitophagy.
In this case, during that challenging time, all I needed was to increase fasting windows. So I decided to increase my fasting window from 22 to 46 hours.
As my body is fat-adapted, increasing my fasting windows is effortless. I can increase it up to seven days with no problem. However, I did not want to do seven days during this time as my body needed essential nutrients to deal with the virus better. So I chose a two-day fasting regimen.
Unusually I felt hungrier the first time when fasting. I showed my compassion for the body by resting with long meditation sessions. The hunger disappeared gradually. I did not feel it after the third day.
I did not change my diet as it is ideal for my lifestyle. It gives me bioavailable proteins, essential minerals, vitamins, and healthy fats like omega-3 fatty acids and other fats in good ratios.
I always consume some cholesterol-containing food, such as beef liver, to nurture my cells. Cellular health is my key focus in preventing diseases and defeat with them when they occur.
Healthy fats are essential for critical vitamins to support the immune system. I have no fear of cholesterol and saturated fats. I overcame my fat-phobia years ago by educating myself with trusted scientific ideas and unlearning wrong and biased information, which gave me nightmares in my younger years.
My time-restricted eating regimen and customized diet using an animal-based eating regimen put my body and mind in a metabolically and mentally advantageous position to deal with the virus efficiently and effortlessly.
3 — Increased Rest and Refrained from Intense Training
I deliberately slowed down and regulated my emotions.
As I increased my fasting window and slightly reduced my food intake in smaller portions, I was in a caloric deficit. I did not want to create too much caloric deficit to prevent excessive stress on the body.
Keeping stress as low as possible was my goal. Therefore, I stopped weight lifting and other resistance training like calisthenics. However, I did 10 minutes of the plank to keep my muscles active. As I have done planks for decades for around 30 minutes daily, this 10-minute approach did not add much stress to the body.
In addition, I jumped on the trampoline for 15 minutes with three sessions in five minutes to keep physical stress down. My goal was to activate the lymphatic system to deal with the virus better.
Activating the lymphatic system frequently is an ideal approach to reducing toxins and pathogens from the body. The easiest way for me is hopping on the trampoline.
4 — Had Mixed Cold/Hot Shower Every Three Hours
I have been reaping the benefits of thermogenesis for decades. I documented my experience and perspectives in an article titled. Here’s What Happened When I Experimented with Thermogenesis for Decades
The critical mechanism of thermogenesis relates to our survival system. Cold and heat exposure impact the endocrine, immune, nervous, blood, cardiovascular, and lymphatic systems, allowing the body to condition and adapt.
Regular use of cold and heat therapy for decades brought me many benefits since my mid-twenties. The most noticeable ones were improving sleep, reducing stress, lowering inflammation, strengthening the immune system, and enhancing mood.
These benefits directly or indirectly relate to dealing with the Covid virus and other infectious diseases. Sleep is critical to reducing stress. Infectious diseases create more inflammation to deal with the virus.
However, I did not want to use any anti-inflammatory medication as my body needed acute inflammation to deal with it. Therefore, cold showers maintained the balance without fully eliminating the inflammation and preventing too much.
The most important part of the cold shower is its beneficial impact on the immune system. As I mentioned before, I haven’t had any flu or cold episodes since I started cold showers decades ago.
Heat therapy is also valuable for improving the immune and overall defense systems, including initiating autophagy and mitophagy. Therefore, I have loved and practiced dry saunas for decades.
Using cold and heat exposure together and alternatively made the practice more comfortable and had a combined effect on regulating my immune system. Cold and heat have different therapeutic effects on the body.
During this period, I mixed cold and hot showers. For example, first, I warmed the body with hot water for a few minutes. Then I had a 30-second cold shower to cool it down. Then I tried another hot session and repeated the interchangeable process around five to seven times.
I practiced this every three hours to keep my lymphatic system active to remove toxins and pathogens created by the recovery process. This protocol also reset my circadian rhythms and other biological rhythms.
This practice of using thermogenesis significantly expedited my recovery process. Therefore, I wanted to share it here.
5 — Used Powerful Supplements for Cellular and Mental Health
I left this to the end as the previous points are the core recovery approaches. However, I don’t undermine the contributions of a few essential supplements supporting the immune system, cells, and mitochondria.
Unexpectedly, on the second day, my energy levels were relatively low. I knew the active immune system caused energy deficiency. I needed to support my cells and activate mitochondria better. The previous points contributed to them; however, I wanted to give another weapon to the body.
So I decided to take a 100 mg caffeine tablet with my go-to supplements, N-Acetyl-Cysteine, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, CoQ10, NADH, TMG, and choline, to nourish my neurotransmitters.
I tripled my Vitamin D3 intake. In addition, I doubled magnesium intake through the skin (Epsom Salts) as I read about its value in credible sources and heard anecdotes from trusted friends who used it during their recovery.
While supporting my cells, I wanted to keep my mood active with adequate energy. During the fasted window, I took the mentioned supplements.
Since my body was in deep ketosis, putting me metabolically and mentally in an advantaged position, these supplements had an even better effect on my energy levels, boosting my mood.
So Covid virus couldn’t affect my happiness due to my diligence. However, it adversely affected other family members, relatives, and neighbors.
Conclusions and Takeaways
Gratefully I did not need hospitalization or medication as my symptoms were very mild. I believe the most prominent contributors were my complete vaccinations and having a solid immune system with healthy lifestyle habits.
Adding additional measures that I mentioned in the five steps expedited my recovery and reduced the effects of symptoms.
At the physical level, ketosis reduced inflammation and speeded up recovery.
As I worked from home on a new design project, I took a break after each hour ensuring to work in a flow state to keep my stress low.
Entering the flow state took a little longer than usual as the body became reactive. But I achieved it first by going into the alpha state with ten-minute meditation. Meditating three times a day helps me improve my health as a preventative measure. However, I increased it to six times during this period to gain treatment benefits.
Other family members and neighbors couldn’t work at all during this period. I was grateful for my ability to work and create when dealing with the Covid virus effortlessly. I was able to post one article a day which kept my mind active and gave me pleasure in sharing my experiences with others.
Increasing the fasting window further improved the immune system as the body did not have to deal with digestion. And autophagy process after 18 hours most likely challenged the virus as this process loves eating the pathogens and biological toxins created by the virus.
Therefore, I keep highlighting the value and importance of autophagy and mitophagy as preventative and alternative treatment methods for health disorders.
