ILLUMINATION is a unique publication established on core values as communicated when I established it. We started only four months ago and gained acceptance and credibility of 2,500 plus writers and 22,500 followers on Medium. I knew from the beginning; there would be adversity hence added resilience to our culture.
This unique publication is based on core values to give voice to every writer and help them grow with cross-pollination. Our approach is pragmatic refraining from perfection. We do not believe in perfection as it does not exist. Those who believe in perfection are either naïve or arrogant. We believe every writer has the potential to grow with the right education and collaboration iteratively and we are geared to support their progress.
As mentioned before, we do not compete with other publications and do not follow their path. It is not helpful to compare our publication with other ones. They are them, and we are us. We respect every publication and mind our own business. We have our specific vision, mission, and execute our strategy adhering to this platform’s policies. As the leader of this publication, I am fully transparent with our progress, goals, and achievements. I share everything publicly.
Our focus is the success of our writers at all levels. Each writer has a unique goal, and we support them using various methods. There are some noises and distractions on social media criticizing us by comparing with other publications. Those who are jealous of our writers’ success make allegations and speculations.
Every one has the right to voice their opinion. I am pleased that our writers are smart enough to see the value we provide them and understand the motives behind the distractions. Our writers know that I have an open-door policy. They have my contact details to verify any doubts.
To clarify, instead of focusing only on an elite group of writers, we focus on all levels. We are diverse and inclusive. By leveraging experience of our many accomplished writers, we help raise the profile of our aspiring writers. No one is perfect, and everyone needs a chance to find their voice.
No one was born as an accomplished writer. If we don’t give a chance to a writer who has potential, it will be unfair to expect them to grow. We offer every writer an opportunity but challenge them to grow. Mentoring, education, and collaboration are cornerstones for the success of our writers.
