There, I did it! ✨ A eudaimonia twittle. ✨ Oh, what a glorious feeling it is to see that magic 100 come up when I check the letter count on the character counter app. 😊 Yeah, I know. I’m a simple person. It doesn’t take much to fuel my eudaimonia!

But this isn’t about me and my eudaimonia. This is all about celebrating the finale of the eudaimonia prompted writing challenge that was jointly hosted by Literary Impulse (Shabd Aaweg Review) and Paper Poetry publications during February and March this year.

✨ Our Eudaimonia Catalogue ✨

Thanks to our wonderfully talented and diversified writers, we compiled an exquisitely unique catalogue of literary and visual art inspired by the fascinating human construct, eudaimonia. For the past couple of months, this collection of fine work has been displayed for all to enjoy on our homepage under the ‘Eudaimonia’ tag — a kaleidoscope of words, imagery, emotions and perspectives to enthrall and delight us.

From that collection, a short-list of pieces was submitted to Literary Impulse’s editorial team who then had the challenge of deciding the final selection to be published as an anthology e-book on Gumroad. The ten winning pieces were announced on the weekend by Somsubhra Banerjee and Suntonu Bhadrahere and here. We warmly congratulate each of the chosen writers and celebrate their most worthy achievement.

✨ Our Final Selection Winners ✨

We take particular pride and pleasure in the three pieces that were selected from our Paper Poetry eudaimonia catalogue. We ask you to join us in congratulating these gifted writers -

Chloe Paulina Hawes for Many Dandelions — An exploratory free-verse poem and thoughtful note in response to the eudaimonia prompt Chloe challenges, entertains and educates us as she takes a journey of discovery to find out for herself the meaning and Ancient Greek historical roots of the term, eudaimonia.

life fulfillment is a flourishing meadow of pretty weeds we all have within ourselves.

K. Barrett for My Eudaimonia — Where the Pencil Meets the Page — perfectly nothing more and nothing less Kara describes, with joyous almost incredulous wonder, how her recent discovery of writing has made her realize a part of herself that has lain dormant for years as she applied herself to life’s many and varied responsibilities.

There is euphoria Where the pencil meets the page Where I reclaim that part of me That I thought I lost to age

Lee Ameka for Sometimes I Get It Right — For the little one (prose) In a beautiful dedication to her child, Lee shows, in vulnerable realism, what it is to be a modern-day mother heroically trying to keep to an unrelenting schedule of busyness, and how it’s the precious moments of young innocence that reward her with eudaimonia.

As I watched you in the mirror, your glowing smile lit up my soul as a thousand suns melted my organized heart.
