Theme

The theme is eudaimonia (spelled ‘eudaemonia,’ derived from Greek: εὐδαιμονία [eu̯dai̯monía]). Although the word is sometimes associated with the word ‘happiness,’ it has a more profound meaning.

Aristotle described that humanity’s purpose is ‘eudaimonia,’ which is a state of serene and permanent happiness, attained through our objective form and actions, for leading us to a sense of good, underpinning well-being happiness.

It is not a momentary exaltation of the senses: instead, it’s having a good indwelling spirit or being in a contented state of being healthy, happy, and prosperous. ‘Eudaimonic happiness & well-being’ can be achieved through experiences of meaning and purpose.

People have described eudaimonia through different means. The following video might provide you a wider aspect of the word:

The Japanese concept, Ikigai, is somewhat closer to the meaning of ‘eudaimonia,’ as it entails ‘actions of devoting oneself to pursuits one enjoys and is associated with feelings of accomplishment and fulfillment.” (Source)

Perspectives of ‘eudaimonia’ differ from person to person, based on our own experience and view towards life. So, all we ask is to portray your eudaimonic colors on the canvas and share your spirit with us. After all, the state of eudaimonia prevails on how you aspire it to attain.
