Literary Impulse & Paper Poetry “Eudaemonia” Prompt Submission
To See You Through
Eudaemonia — in a sonnet

Cloud upon cloud in flight featherlight Carrying the harrowing tribulations of Life Dream after dream waiting day and night I will wait, the world and I, facing all the strife
Melodic chimes to triumph over whines so frail Lonely, I know, the path sturdy the one chosen With wind beneath the wings strong never to quail Boldly, I would, stand tall with my heart unfrozen
The battle of being is irrefutable in coming undone Vessel of flesh in miseries unveiled not to smother For in the end, what’s a whole wide world to one Is all but a trifling puny speck of dust to another
May I return, so to seek You, high and low Eudaemonia, I just didn’t see you through!
- While thanking Jonah Lightwhale, Era Garg and Joanna Vang for challenging me to this prompt, I find that (as I’m late, once again!) most of you have already been tagged or have submitted your work for this.
- However, I did find a few of the (hidden) gems untagged, and so calling them over to play along, should you feel inclined to, that is! :) David Rudder, Isaac, Aspen Blue, Aparna Das Sadhukhan, Saugat Menon, Wilfreda Edward, Josie Elbiry.
- Many thanks to Editorial Literary Impulse and Paper Poetry for hosting the prompt. The prompt details and guidelines are as follows:
