The Politics of Coronavirus
Did you know 38% of Americans don’t know that the claim that 38% of Americans won’t drink Corona beer for fear of Coronavirus is an advertising campaign for Corona beer?
Apparently CNN thinks it is important.
For those of you employed by the Kremlin, the Duran had a couple of interesting videos today. The first involved the claim that Joe Biden was involved in a plot to kill Victor Shokin. The other was a discussion of of the situation in Idlib.
Ordinarily a humble satyr would agree with you: for who has time for such things, when elbowing old women in the face to get the last Baby Wipes in the supermarket?
But there is too much talk of Iran. And too much talk of ‘not politicizing’ the Coronavirus…. for everyone not to politicize the Coronavirus in Iran. So, right on cue, and as predicted (the topic, not the person), up pops Sarah Leah Whitson of the Qunicy Institute (for responsible statecraft) to blame the sanctions.
Given that the Pope is ill, the Ka’Bah is closed to bingo-goers, one half expects the Mahdi to appear in the well: which will be the sign for Turkey’s president Erdogan to unleash his zombie army on poor trembling Europa.
To further inflame matters the BBC ran with a story that at least 210 people have died in Iran, and not the 38 the government say… assuming there is a government, because the parliament in Iran was today closed until further notice.
But back to more important matters, and the need not to politicize the Coronavirus in the USofA.
Hang on… that’s right, climb into the basket… your little dog as well… because we need to get a bit of perspective to see what is going on…
Don’t worry if you get a bit airsick….
Blimey, doesn’t that always happen?
You get yourself all nicely set to show why the arguments about America’s PrEParedness is political posturing, because of ‘supply chain shortages’, only to find out that 400k Chinese don’t have the drugs and medicines either.
It’s almost as if this global economy they keep banging on about is in fact a bubble.
I know, let’s listen to something real.
Of course, that wasn’t real, as the dead person was a 29 year old woman, and the experts tell us that only male boomers get picked off by the Coronavirus. Rather than go over again why those statistics from Feb 11th should be taken with a pinch of salt (it not being in the interests of a career minded bureaucrat to produce unexpected figures)… and why certain experts should also be treated with caution…
