Britain Braces for Coronavirus
The health secretary Matt Hancock has declared Coronavirus a “ serious and imminent threat”: and has announced special measures, such as ‘forced quarantine’ will be implemented.
Almost as predictably as Anna Sacoolas is a CIA agent, the ‘it’s only flu brigade’ are making a whole load of spurious claims about 2019-nCoV. And oddly, given that only the Communist Party suppresses information, the Coronavirus is still not (and never has been) a trending topic on Twitter.

And then there is this…
It’s only flu… it’s only affecting the old… that word ‘plague’; it’s probably a translation thing… just those damned Chinese over-reacting… but one sees it more and more, in official communication.
Has anyone seen Chen Qiushi?
Have you, Mr Ambassador? You? Maybe he’s here? No-one can find him anywhere…
Let’s see if he is with the dead in the stairwell…
I’ll phone a friend… ooops… wrong number….
You would have thought that someone with a name like Chen Qiushi would be easy to find.
What does this say? 23 million people infected? That’s roughly in line with the estimates of the British government… The Communist government in China have got the situation under control…. haven’t they?
The more observant among you will have noticed the 10 day figure. The previous German testing said 9 days (outside of a host). Well, good news… because it turns out that the incubation period (which can be asymptomatic), has gone from 3 days to 24 days…. but quarantine is 14 days ?!? … (who sneezed in my hotpot?).
I need a holiday… that Jiaxing Garden in Wuhan looks nice… oh…
I know I’ll look for Chen Qiushi at the university… oh… no…
A cruise… I’ll take a cruise… that will be relaxing… at least you get your money back…
That’s the spirit…. blooming zombies…
However there is a serious question: what happens to Chinese business.
If you believe the optimists, workers are returning to work today after the Chinese New Year holiday. Realists may well question this assumption. In part because of quarantine restrictions (March 1st is considered the earliest), but also because a number of businesses have reportedly gone bust, or are being propped up by the government (to fight the crisis).
But don’t worry… Britain is prepared for the… erm… flu…
