Quick Bio / About Me

My name is Casey Botticello, and I am an internet entrepreneur and digital marketing consultant with over a decade of experience, creating and improving internet based businesses.

I previously worked for BGR Group, a bipartisan lobbying and strategic communications firm.

I am the founder and former president of the Cryptocurrency Alliance, an independent expenditure-only committee (Super PAC) dedicated to cryptocurrency advocacy.

I have also worked at several tech startups and in real estate development.

I am a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania, where I received my B.A. in Urban Studies.

I am always working on a number of unique projects. Here are a few of the things I am currently focusing on:

  • Blogging Guide — I am the founder of Blogging Guide, the leading newsletter for writers looking to make money online. Blogging Guide covers digital publishing platforms such as Medium, Substack, Amazon KDP and WordPress. Blogging Guide was awarded the Substack Independent Writer Grant in April 2020.

Although Blogging Guide started off as just a series of disconnected resources and a newsletter, I’ve recently launched the official Blogging Guide website, which I’m hoping will become a valuable and easy to navigate tool for writers.

  • Private Equity Investing — I was an early Bitcoin investor. Since divesting most of my cryptocurrency holdings, I have invested in 25+ private equity deals, or sourced shares of privately owned companies on the secondary market. Some of these companies include Dropbox, Uber, Anaplan, Docusign, Puppet, Coursera, SoFi, Palantir, Robinhood and Pinterest.

I live in Washington, D.C., am an avid reader, and enjoy writing in my spare time.
