What is in the picture at first glance?

To see what is apparently not in the picture. Large mountains, snow expanses, ice, blue sky, sun. And not one human to see — or?

A challenge:

Enlarge parts of the image above as much as you can. Examine all the peaks and ridges. — On which mountains tops can you see people? — How many people do you think you can see in the picture?

A hint: At the magnifications we can see people at a minimum of three, maybe four or five peaks or mountain ridges.

Our challenge — to see details, patterns; to see life where it looks lifeless.

På tur i Hardanger — Hiking in Hardanger

© Øivind H. Solheim

A group for everyone who likes to go hiking in the Hardanger nature and the nearby mountain area. The purpose of the group is to share nature images, videos and stories from nature, and to convey knowledge and insight from walks in nature.

We will also use the group as a tool to share insights about nature, about man in nature and about man’s existence. We want the group to provide space for reflection, thoughts and ideas about being human in nature.

PÅ TUR I NORGE — Hiking in Norway

© Øivind H. Solheim

The Norwegian nature is fantastic for hiking on skis and on foot, and in Norway there is a very strong tradition for hiking in the landscape in all seasons. And the hiking experiences alternate with the seasons — summer and autumn on foot, winter and spring on skis, snowshoes and on foot.

We are many in this country who love our nature and who use the landscape around us diligently. Trips out into the Norwegian nature means good training for the body, peace and quiet for the mind and joy of meeting other like-minded people.

Through writing, I want to provide good reading experiences and to create a basis for insight into small and big questions in life.

The roof of Norway: Panorama of Jotunheimen, seen from Loftet, towards south. Photo © Øivind H. Solheim

Jotunheimen is a mountain area in central southern Norway between Ottadalen in the north, Gudbrandsdalen in the east, Valdres in the south and Sogn in the west. The area has an area of about 3500 square kilometers. Here are the highest mountains in Northern Europe, Galdhøpiggen (2,469 m) and Glittertinden (2,457 m). The eighteen other highest peaks on mainland Norway are also located in this landscape, with Vestre Tverråtind at 2,309 m as the “lowest”. This is followed by Snøhetta (Dovre massif, 2,286 m) and Beerenberg (Jan Mayen, 2,277 m). (Wikipedia)
