The dream of you
Maybe One Day —
Will I ever get to know you? Or will you forever live somewhere far out there, beyond my dreams? Will you one day stand before me, maybe a secret smile, or a serious face?
Do I know who you are? — Hardly. Do you know about me? — Hardly.
We are two unknowns, but if life let us, we would know something new — we would experience that we are not two aliens. We are two people who do not know. But we have an idea.
We sense that there is someone out there somewhere.
Somewhere is the other, who does not wait either. Who is there anyway. We are two people who are not two strangers. We cannot be stranger before the one we do not know of.
We know so little. But we are here. And we’re busy with what we have.
We know so little. We know — that life is here. Right here and now. That’s what we know.
And we know that life can be lonely. Life can be grim, life can be many similar days of gray rain dripping down upon us.
And yet we do not give up. Yet we do not stop. We endure.
We do what we do. We have hope. We do what we must.
That’s the way it is. And maybe — — maybe one day.
