Here Is Why and How Hilda Thrived in an Omnivorous and Concurrent Lifestyle.
Initially living her life on the edge, this bisexual woman believed happiness was in the middle ground.

A Glance of Hilda’s Life Philosophy
Unlike in her younger years, Hilda (pseudonym) gained an astounding body and sharp mind with outside-the-box thinking as she got older and wiser.
Hilda is now a professional dancer, athlete, and painter, making her happy.
However, gaining her current physical and mental abilities took years of hard work, experimentation, and a mindset shift.
Hilda was in constant search to improve her life with courage. She didn’t care what others thought, but she focused on what her body and mind informed her.
As a cheerleader in secondary and tertiary, Hilda easily connected with people and joined many health and fitness communities.
Her favorite subjects in college were dance, physical education, and painting.
Her passion for dance and exercise inspired Hilda to become a dancer and athlete to earn her living. She used art as a hobby.
Even though she pursued an understanding of scientific theories to improve her body and mind, her preference was an experimental approach to reach her desired life satisfaction.
Hilda’s experiments empowered her to have a prosperous life with excellent physical and mental health.
An Attempt to Understand a Unique Approach to Life
When I met Hilda in the fitness community, I sensed something different about her and wanted to explore without intruding on her life.
Sensing caution in my questions, she said, “Relax, man! You can ask me about anything, as I enjoy sharing my life transparently with trusted people.”
I was honored but remained cautious. However, Hilda was generous in providing information that gave me valuable insights into diet, exercise, art, and sexuality.
However, I only focussed on Hilda’s diet, exercise, and art which gave me valuable perspectives.
Her sexuality as a private matter, in my opinion, was not particularly interesting to my lifestyle research beyond my capability.
Nevertheless, her sexual choice validated the importance of variety in improving her lifestyle and life satisfaction.
Why Hilda Chose an Omnivorous and Concurrent Lifestyle and How She Benefited from It
I summarize three interesting perspectives from a successful person’s life.
1- Hilda’s Dietary Journey
Hilda confidently joined several nutrition communities, including extreme dietary choices.
First, she decided to become a vegan as the community convinced her about the benefits of an herbivorous lifestyle.
She initially enjoyed it and tried it for a while. However, she felt something was missing in her life. She wanted to explore.
After a while, Hilda joined to carnivore community. Like the previous group, this community also convinced her about the benefits of a carnivory lifestyle.
This lifestyle was also exciting for her in the beginning. She gained noticeable benefits but felt something was missing in her life. So she decided to explore.
Finally, Hilda met her soul mate in another community. Everything about her soulmate, who was a healthy polymath, looked attractive to Hilda. So she decided to examine and emulate her lifestyle.
One noticeable pattern was that her soulmate was omnivorous, eating animal and plant products. Since Hilda could eat both types of food, she decided to become omnivorous.
She experienced a noticeable difference in her body and mood within a short time. Whatever was missing in previous dietary regimens disappeared. This new regimen filled the void.
She commented, “The human body can digest both animal and plant products. So why shouldn’t we take benefits of both?”
She was right. But I said some people have constraints hence they choose one of them. She said fair enough. She was not one of them, so it was not a concern.
2 — Hilda’s Athletic Journey
In her younger years, Hilda was a long-distance runner completing several marathons. She won some competitions, which encouraged her to run more.
Hilda loved running, giving her a lot of joy. However, her physic at a young age was not desirable to her.
Her main workouts were cardio, as she assumed women were not meant to do weight training that might cause excessive muscle growth.
Interestingly, her soulmate, having astonishing physics and who thrived with “concurrent training,” changed her perception as a role model.
With the new inspiration from her friend, Hilda started resistance training, including weight lifting and calisthenics. She also continued cardio.
In a short time, her physic made a significant improvement. For example, she attained a trimmed and attractive body, making her a better dancer and athlete in new sports.
In addition, her physical and mental health enhanced. As a result, she became even more cheerful, creative, and productive in her occupations.
She commented, “Human body can handle both cardio and resistance workouts. So why shouldn’t we take benefits of both?”
She was right. But I said some people have constraints. Therefore, they choose the right one to suit their needs. She agreed. However, she was not one of them, so it was not a concern.
When I mentioned my research on the importance of dancing for longevity, she desired to become a centenarian.
3 — Hilda’s Artistic Journey
In addition to diet and exercise, Hilda also customized her artistic side using the same principle.
Initially, she focused on only one school of art in painting. This limitation caused her dissatisfaction. She felt something was missing.
With inspiration from her soulmate, she tried multiple painting forms, including modern and classical varieties. As a result, her artistic capabilities were enhanced, giving her joy and life satisfaction.
In addition, using the same principle, Hilda tried different dance forms such as ballroom, contemporary, ballet, and even hip-hop, making her a better dancer.
I teased Hilda by saying I wanted to be like her when I grew up. She burst into laughter as she was half my age.
Final Words
Hilda was fortunate to have no dietary and movement constraints. This proposition put her in an advantaged position.
However, she amplified her advantages by experimenting and choosing the optimal lifestyle to meet her needs, desires, and goals.
Hilda owed her success to questioning the norms. In the herbivorous community, the norm was eating only plant products. In the carnivorous community, it was animal products.
Likewise, in one community, the norm was cardio and resistance workouts in another. Art communities also created norms based on their preferred forms. They set their criteria.
Hilda decided to create her own criteria.
Thinking outside of the boxes and trying multiple approaches, Hilda benefited from a wide range of foods, exercise regimens, and art forms, improving her physical and mental health.
She confirmed that her new lifestyle made her more creative and productive. Hilda became a better dancer, athlete, and artist in her new lifestyle.
She wished to meet her soulmate at an earlier age. However, she was still grateful because she wouldn’t know better if she hadn’t tried the extreme ends.
Takeaways
Life is full of options. It is up to us to make choices suiting our needs. Diet and exercise are individual matters. Hilda found happiness in the middle.
Like Hilda, I believe experiments give us valuable insights to customize our lifestyle with multiple choices. One thing working for a person might not work for another.
However, the human body is adaptable to various conditions. Therefore, by trial and error, we can increase our stamina and find the optimal solution suiting our needs.
Normalcy is a misnomer as it does not fit everyone, as I articulate in this story titled Why Normal Looks Abnormal to Me.
Another human fallacy is the pursuit of perfection. As the human body and mind are imperfect, achieving perfection in life looks like an illusion to me.
